Alix1.d re-start problem

Post by paolo_ver »

Some days ago, after an heavy thunderstorms, the AC power was lost...but after it has become ON the ALIX Hardware didn't start!!! :(

I was in vaction so the meteohub was forced off for many days... :S

So I tryed to simulate this situation by switching off the power strip and than switch on again but the alix didn't start! :( (All the other hardware connected on that power strip switched on instead...)

I tryed finally to unplug the DC wire from the back of the alix (till the power strip was on) and put it back again and the alix started!!!

So what I'm wrong ?

Hi!
i dont have an answer for your problem, but i did have also a problem with AC Power.
While a thunderstorm the power was lost for a really short moment (not a second) and the alix didn´t restart.
After plug out/in the Power strip it did restart.
I tried sometimes, and always restart.

I think the really short powerless time was the problem on my side.

I agree.
The ALIX seems to restart fine with a clean off then on, but a momentary glitch can kill it with no restart.

I used to suffer that problem till I switched to using a better PSU. I now use a small power 'brick'. The 'brick' is capable of smoothing over the tiny power glitches that seem to throw an ALIX 1D using the "standard" PSU.

There is a discussion about this in this old topic.

Thank you very much for your answers! I'll try to see if my problem was similar! And than will look for a "power brick" Thank you. :)
