transmission of pressure to Wunderground

Post by web_smith »

Hi there again,

is it possible, that the data for barometric pressure for Weather Underground is binned to 0.1 in, instead of a more smoother hPa?
I noticed, that smoother lines there are possible, but with your station and mine (IBREMENB2) there are just stairs - ugly stairs.

Greetings,

Stefan

Hi,
I am working on a better precision for dew and windchill (from 1 ° to 0.1 °), rain when measured in in (0.1 in to 0.01 in) and pressure (from 1 hPa to 0.1 hPa and 0.1 inHg to 0.01 in HG and 0.1 psi to 0.01 psi).

Not all weather stations oo support these resolutions, but Meteohub should be able to handle data on that level of precision.

Regards,
Boris

OK, but as the pressure is transmitted in inches, and the current resolution is just 1/10in, it should be fairly easy to extend the printf format to two decimals. The conversion factor between hPa and in is about 33.8639, so 1 hPa gives 0.03 in, better than 3 hPa in the current display.

Stefan
