More sensor detail at sensor fail

Post by janhoogenboom »

Hi,

I regularly have Oregon sensors temporarily failing on me, probably due to a combination of distance, obstacles, deteriorating batteries, and especially sensors with the same channel blocking each other. No problem, that happens.

And it is nice that Meteohub sends an email notification for that, e.g.:
Sensor "th5 " failed
But it would be nice if it could report a little bit more about the failing sensor(s), and at least the name. In this case what we know about sensor th5 is for example:

THGR918 212:1 th5 "Garage 1.5m" 10 min 20.0° 66%

It would be nice to know, in addition to the ID: the Name, the Type, the #, and how long it is unreachable already.
And if available, the last known/received valid battery status ans measurement, so one can already estimate what might be the problem.

Asking even more, it would be nice to be able to configure somewehere after how long (minutes) a sensor should be considered 'failing', so you can suppress warnings for all sensors if some are known to fail only temporarily sometimes (for a short duration).

Regards, Jan.

thanks for these ideas. The whole alarm thing needs improvement in Meteohub. I put it on my list for next feature-driven dev cycle.
