meteohub does not record data any more

Post by Manhart »

My Meteohub does not record data from my VP2 since 1100 any more. Connection with internet is ok. When i check "data view", there are no data on display after 1530. Any idea ?

Regards

Matthias

Just wondering, are the sensors still reporting new values on the sensor page?

Anything in the logs that gives a clue?

You might want to force a manual recompute on the maintenance page.

The sensor-page is online and the data from the VP2 are ok.

The page "data view" is dead. No new data after 1530.

A restart of the NSLU2 does not change anything. There is enough free space on the memory-stick.

The exported graphs are online, as you can see on my website.

meteohub.log and alarm.log don't show errors.

Now i made the update to 4.5d (build 12). The recalculation needs several hours. I will make it this night.

I fear "dmesg log" will show errors regarding "sda3". If so, USB stick has gone.

I will add a new feature that makes a diagnosis of this automatically. While recent changes in Meteohub further reduce stress on USB sticks there seem to be very weak sticks around that are sure candidates for errors over time.

Unfortunately, there are nearly no SLC USB sticks around. For SheevaPlug (sd card) and x86 (CF card) there are SLC models around which can tahe factor 10 more writes than broader used (and much cheaper) MLC ones. Having SLC combined with storage media from brands with good reputation that have good wear leveling algorithms in place, I believe storage failures are unlikely to occur in the first 5 years of operation. Up to now I have heard of just one crashed CF card (was a cheap MLC one) and no problems with sd cards (but SheevaPlug is still fairly new).

The memory-stick is ok. I can write and delete files in /public/transfer (mounting the folder).

I did not find errors in dmes.log.

hm, looks ok.

could you please open a ssh-tunnel to me by "htt://ip-of-your-meteohub/cgi-bin/help.cgi"? This would allow me to login and look myself.

The system is ok after recalculating the data.
