Hello,
I'm having very strange problems with my setup.
I'm having a very unreliable connection to my wireless sensors when i plug in the usb cable on the alix 3 board.
It loses connection a certain time after plugging in the cable, unplugging it results in an almost immediate reading.
After browsing a bit on the subject i've found this:
http://www.midlandsweather.org.uk/equip ... mr200.html
the solution of changing the usb port is even worse :(
on the system log:
Mar 20 23:23:37 meteohub kernel: wlan0: no IPv6 routers present
Mar 20 23:25:36 meteohub kernel: usb 2-1: usbfs: USBDEVFS_CONTROL failed cmd hidlog3 rqt 33 rq 9 len 8 ret -110

Mar 20 23:48:36 meteohub kernel: usb 2-1: usbfs: USBDEVFS_CONTROL failed cmd hidlog3 rqt 33 rq 9 len 8 ret -110
on the meteohub log:

is it the software that bugs the wmr 200?
what can i do, to solve this annoying problem :(
thanx in advance.
Miguel

I've no personal experience of this problem, but...devriendtm wrote:the solution of changing the usb port is even worse :(
Have you tried using a different USB cable?
In the UK at least the WMR200 cable already has RF chokes fitted at both ends (which is good!), but you might be able to improve on the cable quality or shielding? If you could manage with a shorter cable that might help too.

I have already changed the cable, to a very short usb cable, same thing.
(the one i originally used has indeed rf chokes)
strange thing, if i use my normal pc's usb port, the logging stays good!

Could the problem perhaps be some sort of interference coming from something at the ALIX 3 end?devriendtm wrote:strange thing, if i use my normal pc's usb port, the logging stays good!
Do you maybe have an alternative PSU with the same rating and connector that you could try?
Alternatively, something I've seen done at the WMR200 end in an attempt to improve signal quality is to use a ferrite core ring on the cable from the PSU! That's mentioned in this Weather-Watch.com topic.
