Hi, I hope someone can advise me on this problem, or point me to some documentation.
I have the NSLU2 with the WMR968. I've been transmitting weather data with this unit since late December. It fails intermittently by stopping communication with all servers. Usually restarting takes care of the problem.
My unit stopped transmitting completely on Saturday. I have rebooted both the NSLU2 and my router several times to no avail. I have checked all the connections (which are tight). I cannot see the NSLU2 from the router. The only lights that are lit on the NSLU2 are the Ethernet (solid green) and the Ready/Status (flashing green/amber). Disk 1 (WMR968) and Disk 2 (dongle that came with the unit from Ambient Weather) are not lit up.
I have a bad feeling that the USB dongle that stores data has failed. Do the symptoms I describe support that? If so, how do I format a new USB drive to work with the system? Can I preserve old data, or should I just start with a clean slate?
I appreciate any assistance,
Tracy

yes, looks like usb stick has failed. Try to setup a new one. Once this runs, you might be able to recover some data (if it is not damaged as well).
Do you have data backups?

Thank you for your reply. I do have the clientraw files on my FTP server but no other backups.
Can I just format any USB stick and use it or is there something else required?
Is there anything else I should be aware of?
Thanks, Tracy

A quality 4GB USB stick, preferable with SLC chips would be fine, like Transcend JetFlash 185 (8TS4GJF185).
Re:Status/Ready light blinks green/orange continuously
Thank you for all of your assistance. My Transcend JetFlash has finally arrived. I plugged it into Disk2 and restarted my NSLU2. I can see the device on my router (it is still assigned a static IP address) and it pings with 100% sent and received.
The problem is that I can't get to the meteohub software when I type in the IP address. I have a feeling that I should have put some software on the USB stick -- or something. All I did was take it out of the packaging and plug it in.
Is there something I should have done to format the USB drive or some software or license that I should have installed? I am at a loss (again).
Thanks for your help,
Tracy

yes, please follow instructions (section 1.1.3) of Meteohub manual, which can be downloaded from download-section of this site.
