As I am using hyper-v on my server I cannot use the vmware player. Can I install it on a Hyper-V virtual machine?
Red Hat Enterprise Linux is supported by Microsoft. Can it be installed on this linux?
Is the some guide how to do this?
Thanks!
Best regards,
Martin

sorry, no experience with that and no idea.
Re: Meteohub in HyperV-VM
I have converted the VMware Image to a an Hyper-V Image, Meteohub starts to Login.
The Problem (in the Moment) is the NIC -> I am not able to install the right driver because of my poor Linux knowledge.
In Hyper-V Generation 1 you have the possibility to define COM Ports to NamedPipes.
With this Porgramm (https://github.com/albertjan/PipeToCom) you are able to make a connection between NamedPipe a real COM Port on the Host or to an USB/Ethernet Converter.
So a connection to the weather hardware should be no problem.
Can anybody help me?
thx

Re: Meteohub in HyperV-VM
So in the meantime i have a running Config!
My mistake was that I selected the wrong network adapter in the Hyper-V configuration.
I also were able to get the program "PipeToCom" running, this works really good.
A long-term test will show how well this combination really works.

Re: Meteohub in HyperV-VM
Hi,
My meteohub is running in a virtual machine under control of VirtualBox. Has proven to be a stable combination; I'm only having a random issue where the system time is not always in sync. Might be down to Debian, as all my other Virtual Machines do not have this issue.

Re: Meteohub in HyperV-VM
In my case I have allmy stuff on my HomeServer (Windows 2012 with Hyper-V).
If you have allready Hyper-V installed on the Server you are not able to run another virtual solution because of the Hypervisor.
So I have to run Meteohub in Hyper-V!
Until now I don't have problem with the system time.
