Solar radiation not showing on WU **solved**

Post by cbhiii »

Hi,

I noticed that my solar data is not displaying on weather underground, but a new graph showing solar radiation now appears on their site so they must be receiving something to tell them that I have a solar sensor. Perhaps is really low or wrong value is being sent.

The graphs work fine and show normal values. The [actual_thb0_solar...] values work fine in web pages too. It is just what weather underground is being sent I would say.

I, too, am having the same issue. Meteohub is showing the values for the solar sensor, but Wunderground is showing a value of 0 in my current data and the graph is blank.

UV radiation is working fine.

Has anyone had any success or does anyone know anything further about this issue?

Hi, hard to test for me as I don't have a solar sensor.

However, inspecting the code again I found a bug that might have caused this. Will be fixed in the next update.

Off topic but I'm finding very interesting results from using the "temp in a jar" solar sensor idea that WD allows for, i.e. a spare temp sensor is sealed in a small glass jar and placed in full sun, and a solar value is obtained by using the difference between the "temp in a jar" and the normal outside temp. There's more to it than that of couse, but that's the basic idea. For more detail try a search for "temp jar" or "solar jar" over on Weather-Watch:
http://www.weather-watch.com/smf/

I'm doing these tests on the WD instance that is getting its data from Meteohub using the new (and still under development) http request based interface.
