Restore NSLU2 original firmware

Post by wouterk »

Hello,

I just used the sercomm utility to get my linksys in its original state. But after the re-flash an d restarting the NSLU2 I still get meteohub after accessing 192.168.1.77.
After trying it forthe third time I have no idea what to do.
Does someone know why I am still getting meteohub after a re-flash?

Thanks,

Wouter.

You need a firmware image to flash to the NSLU2. Which one did you take?

Hi,

I used the one you can download from the linksys support site: NSLU2_V23R63.bin

Did you follow these procedure?
http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/HowTo/R ... ysFirmware

If you have a Bad Flash bootloader
http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/HowTo/R ... mABadFlash

Or have you not been able to set the SLUG into upgrade mode?
That´s the tricky part, really, because with the LED colors you can hardly tell the difference between yellow/orange ...
basically you put the Slug into "upgrade mode" by holding down the reset button for ten seconds when powering it on, and then run the upslug2 program on a PC on the same network to send the new flash data. This is all described in great detail on this page: Main.UpSlug2. You should read that page now.

Hi,

Yes I did all there is on the pages of nslu2_linux.org. The last thing I did was a reset of the config and then the upgrade mode with sercomm utility.
The login of the nslu2 is still meteohub.
