transfer data only NSLU2 -> alix.d x86 system ?

Hello,

i currently have one active davis vp2 + meteohub setup with meteohub running on a nslu2 hardware environment
i would like to transfer this setup to a new hardware environment (the alix.1d x86 environment)
on the alix.1d system i do have a running metehub version WITH an active license.

i would like to transfer my current weather-data to the new environment and keep a running version of meteohub on the nslu2
the nslu2 meteohub setup will be used on another weather location and i would like to use the alix.d setup at my location

in the manual i found these steps:

How do I migrate from NSLU2 to x86 platform or SheevaPlug?

Migration from a running NSLU2-Meteohub to a x86 or SheevaPlug platform can be done
without help from outside and without any license costs.
1. Update NSLU2-Meteohub to version 3.0 (or newer).
2. Save Data from runnning NSLU2-Meteohub via "Application Data Backup" (page
"Maintenance"). Wait until message "full backup done" appears in "meteohub log"
(page "log files"). Copy generated file "/public/meteohub.backup" to your PC.
3. Write down the following pieces of information:
○ MAC (page "System Information")
○ System ID (page "System Information")
○ Activation Code (page "Maintenance")

4. Setup a new x86-Meteohub as demo version.
5. Transfer activation code for NSLU2 to the new Meteohub
○ Goto "www.meteohub.de" select sub-menu "License" with option "Transfer
(NSLU2 -> x86)".
○ Type in MAC, System ID and activation code of NSLU2-Meteohub and System ID
of new x86-Meteohub.
○ The tool returns an activation code for your x86-Meteohub. Insert this activation
code on the "maintenance" page of your x86-Meteohub.
○ Please store System ID and activation code of the new Meteohub at a secure
place. You might need this data when doing a future migration..
6. As a side effect of this procedure the old NSLU2-Meteohub gets deactivated and
falls back into demo mode (blacklisted). This unit cannot be reactivated by an
activation key unless you contact "info@meteohub.de".
7. Provide the backuped application data to the x86-Meteohub at
"/public/meteohub.backup". Restore these data by pressing "Application Data
Restore" (page "Maintenance")..

so in my situation: would it be enough to only do the steps:

yep should do. Please keep a copy of your target systems activation code.

If you just want to transfer weather data, not graph definitions etc, it might be more easy to copy folders /public/weather/YYYYMM to your new system and do a recomputation there to get transferred raw data active.

thx for your reply

i tried the steps before i read your response (yes i know, that was stupd)

now i have a problem that my nslu2 is broken. at least it doesn't work anymore when i try to switch it on with the usb stick
the usb stick is not broken because i can see the data when i insert it into my ubuntu pc
so i think the nslu2 hardware is broken.

problem is: how to retreive te license i had on the nslu2. on the alix1d i had a new license so there's no problem.

what to do. can i see the license somewhere on the usb stick ?

can i transfer this also to the new alix_1d setup so i can run 2 weather stations on the alix1d ?
