Mail send failed: 0 (null)#blah@mydomain.com: 0 (null)

I get the same error on my Meteoub running on my NSLU2. No matter what smtp server I try nor what security setting I use I get the same failure. The only related entries in any logs are in the system log and they only say the same as the error message. I have Windows machines that can send smtp mail just fine. It seems to me this used to work; I recently set Meteohub back up as I had not been using it for 6-8 months after my USB stick died. Did some update in the mean time break or change something? Am I missing something simple?
