I have another question: maybe you, Brian or someone present made this upgrade: Vantage Pro2™ Complete Tune Up Kit? Here's what I'm talking about: https://www.davisinstruments.com/collec ... une-up-kit
As part of this upgrade, there is this "Rain Collection Spoon Upgrade Kit" (as in the picture in the attachment).
An oddity was noticed: subjectively, the amount of precipitation has become less and after the rain starts, the indication of its beginning appears with a delay of at least 5 minutes.
It is clear that my question can be addressed to another forum thread.
I need to find out the reason. Hence the question to Brian: is the indication of the beginning of rain in the template the same as at the station itself (Davis claims 20 seconds)? Or is it all because of the Rain Collection Spoon Upgrade Kit (The last question is not for Brian) :) ?

hello alex

i use the single spoon you highlight in the photo. all i can say is I find the single spoon better than the original dual spoon , i installed a CoCoRaHS some 4 feet away at same height as the davis ISS aprox 9ft above the ground concrete for comparison .. comparison of the two using the CoCoRaHS alongside is so marginal in difference its nothing worth worrying about some rain events the davis accumulated more by a 0.4mm some events the CoCoRaHS accumulated more by 0.2mm the difference is not worth losing any sleep over.

only advice i can give is insure the ISS is level , the single spoon is correctly installed and level in its position i.e all tabs are clipped in correctly. make sure your model is not calibrated for inches or you purchased a inches version, non metric.

i have installed two of these one in my neighbors recently who purchased a used vp2 from me a few months ago her readings though some aprox 500 meters away from me are again almost identical in every aspect , hers is at 12 feet to get over the hedgerow surrounding her back yard.

tipping events really depends on type of rain event obviously if its a downpour its almost instant if its light rain then tipping event is less frequent, i find the single spoon sensitive enough to even tip during long periods of dense fog , i.e we had a almost week long of fog with humidity at 100% for many hours per day and two 0.2mm events occured during that week .

so perhaps others can comment on their experiences feel free to discuss as majority of template users
are using davis vantage pro2..brian

Good evening Brian,

Please to hear that you remember me from the early days of your amazing template. Not gone away, just been quiet as your template always works for me 100% of the time. I have kept updating and never had any issues so never needed to raise things. I am saying that touching wood!

Still love weather, still love Davis, still love my nano and still love weather34. Also still like running ultra marathons!

Paul

Hi Brian! I noticed this oddity: in the attached screenshot pic1 accumulated precipitation for yesterday in the amount of 1.8 mm, and if you look at the following picture, you can see how this figure "crawled" to today's day, although there was no rain at that time. And interestingly, in the third picture, these 1.8 mm and the actual amount of precipitation for today - 0.8 mm do not add up to each other...

good morning alex ..it means meteobridge is sending yesterdays value for short period after midnight. check timezone settings or server times .
looks as if your meteobridge or server is an hour out of sync .. you can see from your csv data there 1.8mm being sent upto 01:00
then from 01:10 it is 0.0 . indicates one hour difference .template only reads what is sent to the files .

Hi, Brian! I didn't think at all about time synchronization in the meteobridge settings, the local time really "moved out". Thank you, I will keep in mind for the future.

Ecowitt users the nag screen has been removed it will simply run with the standard sensor layout at present it doesn't cater for those additional sensors that said Ryan has compiled a version to accommodate the Ecowitt sensor array by using a separate manual driven configuration in Meteobridge itself so in due course a separate version Ecowitt hardware will be available to download with instructions how to setup in Meteobridge via a GITHUB repo and maintained by Ryan which will simply be able to use the simple update files as the only difference is or will be the livedata file and few extra modules to cater for the extra sensor arrays . That said Weather34 will not answer enquiries or requests all issues should be made via the GITHUB repo issues section. So when its ready ill post a link via main template page. If it becomes popular I can make request for a new separate API to Boris once any issues have been ironed out or if the process of all the extra sensors proves to be easily maintainable in template itself .So please remember Weather34 is not answering questions or dealing with this addition.

Brian
Good Morning.
Something new about this.
Thanks.

After some reflection ... and solving the nonzerotime meteobridge errors with the weather34-lightning-eco.php scripts from August they work fine for me.

Hello Josep

its something new but not by me , Ryan has compiled a version to use with ecowitt or alike hardware where additional sensors are in use . Requires a separate small API (manual service script in Meteobridge for recognizing the additional sensors) .This version will include chart data for those additional sensors on a separate screen(s) . Ryan has a private Github repo and when he is ready he will put out requests for some users to beta test it , that said I have advised him too take his time don't rush it and fully understand everything to reduce the workload of support(which can be overwhelming), so when he is ready Im sure you will see it on here but in a different thread.Im not getting involved apart from minor changes on design side if required and it will simply follow any future changes in design to this version(Aurora MKII) by using the simple update.Im not getting involved in the brand in any way I simply don't have the knowledge or understanding its really as simple as that .
So whether it happens in December,January etc will be based on he is confident going forth .Again it is a free version no donations required just a friendly constructive environment is that all is asked for.Do not pay for any weather34 or templates that contain weather34 work to anyone its (weather34 is) 100% free .

@All im sorry I have not answered any emails, pm etc but I have noted them , on a personal Im not been too well for the last week at times hardly get out of bed total exhaustion ,this started a few weeks ago after I had my third dose of Biontech/Pfizer and progressively has gotten worse , hence my comment to Paul Wilman getting out of bed is like a marathon (it is at the moment), whilst I was humoring him Ive been struggling..so sincere apologies I will respond in due course ..dont see this has a sympathy call its just reality and just highlighting why you may not be getting any response..Brian
