@staze, Have you actually changed anything physically as in calibration etc in all this confusion with regard WL Cloud?

Yes it is spoon tips which is directly related to the spoon size (metric or imperial)

This rainfall difference between MB and WL Cloud, is this between WL bulletin board/summary or uploaded (logger) archive data?

@MattK. I haven't changed anything other than adding raintotal as per previous thread. I haven't applied any corrections, etc. Happy to provide whatever screenshot.

And yeah, I realize it's related, I mean more, the packet sent to WLL. Do you (or whatever is sending the data to WLL) actually send a measurement of rain (in some units), or does it just send "tips", and then need to supply some type of identifier as to which spoon is in use? My impression is this is the case (it's just a tip number).

As to the last question, it's not currently raining, so I cannot say what the "current" rain difference is vs an archived total for a given month. But after I installed the update, I had been checking on and off and the values continued to diverge as they had previously.

Happy to provide remote access if that helps. Also not sure if there's some difference between the Vue vs the Vantage Pro 1/2. I have a Vue and my MB Nano SD is in a Weather Envoy. From previous threads, it seems like the Envoy (and any Davis Console, really) doesn't treat the Vue differently than the Pros.

There is a fairly constant factor between those values but yes not a value that indicates anything meaningful.

The value sent to WeatherLink.com is in bucket tips as well as the bucket factor, WL.com (and assume) WLL can convert to display Metric or imperial after that. If there is a imperial 0.01"/metric 0.2mm cross over then the factor is around 1.27, the above values appear to be very close to double?

A 0.2mm metric tipper/spoon is all good in a Vue, VP2 or Envoy, it's the imperial hardware/config that has the issues. There was a release on Nov 27/28 in relation to this imperial issue. It sounds like you are running this version?

Yup. I’m on version past that. I’ve had issues with this for a while, and actually was paying for Weatherlink for a while hoping it would help. It didn’t. :/

That’s good info on how it works. There’s rain predicted next week, so hopefully I’ll have some new data. It’s more divergent than I recall it being before the patch in question. It used to make sense from a tips conversion and “assumption”. For whatever reason I would have assumed WL just took “tips” and then there was a flag in the packet for imperial vs Metric.

Is there any way to actually query the MB for what the existing settings are? When you check the box to set the settings, it unchecks after hitting save, so there’s no “confidence monitor” really. :/

Happy to assist in testing since it seems like there aren’t many of us with imperial rain gauges.

I checked the code and it looks to me as if the conversion factor was wrong. The just released version should have it right. Please try again and sorry for letting you run in circles.

Cool. Just updated. We should be getting (freezing) rain here soon and I'll keep an eye out.

Thanks!

Imperial MB rainfall now agrees across local console, WeatherLinkPC local download, WeatherLink.com web page Bulletin/Summary and URL Embedded and Summary views.

However since updating to 5.5 Dec 23, 2022 build 4344 archive interval uploads to WeatherLink.com have stopped. Not sure why at this point, was working immediately before the version update, has been no archive updates since?

WL Cloud upload still working for me, but rain hasn't really started yet.

Month data, however, agrees 100%. Year data agrees as well (for the precip year of October 1st through Sept 30). Yay! Thank you so much!

Just to clarify, "WL Cloud upload" still working?

Is this the near real time data upload feeding the Bulletin/Summary WeatherLink.com pages? Which is ok.

or

The Archive interval data (10 minute intervals in my config) that is uploaded hourly? This is the upload that stopped since I updated the latest version this morning.

Things appear to be working for both, I think? bulletin/summary are perfect. I don't have a Pro account so I can't check the data tab, but the older historical data on the bulletin page looks correct.

Guess I'm not sure how to actually check to see if the archive data is uploading.

I'm downloading it back to WeatherLinkPC via Web Download.

All does appear to be ok now? Took 3 hours to get a download after the FW update, having lost a few records and has now downloaded on the hour for the past 2 hours so things no longer appear lost?

Ah, I've never been able to figure out how to use the damn Weatherlink app. It always seemed super obtuse and unstable. =(

If you've got a simple explanation on doing it, would be happy to check. But right now, things look correct. =)
