Re: Weather34 Aurora MKII Version 2022
Brian,
I'm sorry that you feel this way over a small logo change. The recognition of your creation of the template, along with the other required license references, is still acknowledged in the info.html - https://jmfweather.uk/info.html. All I wanted to do was tidy up any links to your website which will become dead when your hosting ceases at the end of January and use my logos for my website.
Previously, I had removed the "info" link entirely and I acknowledged that error at that time and it was reinstated as we discussed.
Again, I apologise if you think this was a deliberate slight on you, your creative effort, and the support you have given me and many others over the years.
Regards

Re: Weather34 Aurora MKII Version 2022
its simply disrespectful and unethical but yes fair comment on the links but as planned an update with links removed and replaced that points to this forum to this forum will appear end of week with downloads parked on a new service so everyone can use if it suits there needs again no obligations, its free . but unethical things like this deters the urgency and enthusiasm to do it. like last time but you simply have repeated that very quickly after I decided to pursue other interests . i dont like hanging dirty washing out to dry but its not the first time so to ram the message home you force the need to do this crap.. be respectful, be ethical and none of this crap happens..
as always i listen , acknowledgment of issues and i respond but as I said many times whats the point of having rhetorics ,no one reads it they just do they want .. sorry Jason but it really is unethical..Brian

Re: Weather34 Aurora MKII Version 2022
Dear Jason,
I also have a logo, one that I made for my website. Not as pretty as yours, but still.
I have to tell you honestly that I can't imagine sticking it on stuff you made.
I wouldn't consider that a respectful act towards you.
When you make something, the conceptual, the intellectual property is without a doubt yours. I shouldn't be touching that.
If it is also the case that just about everyone in this "weather world" knows that it is your property, then it would be a very stupid action on my part. In fact, needless to say, it is not even necessary to officially deposit the logo. It is actually registered.
But the official touch to my story isn't necessary. I wouldn't do it because it's yours. Your property.
Jason, you'd do well if you didn't do it yourself. And certainly not in the case of Brian, who has "served" us for years with his fantastic template and everything it took to make it. And last but not least in a very patient way. Always ready to help.
By the way, as a Dutchman, I don't recognize the British way of doing things at all. Englishmen are proud of honor and tradition. This is not a British course of action.
I think you'd be doing this whole community a favor if you would reverse what you did.
thanks,
Bart

Bart you are 100% free todo what ever you want in anyway you feel, put what ever you want on your website , it is your web site your the one that pays for the webspace .definitely not saying you can do that you can't do that in anyway , just show ethics i.e just the small logo bottom right corner left in place to ackowledge the efforts of the origin is not a lot to ask. Unfortunately I know where it leads too Ive seen numerous times trust me and it leaves a sour taste in your mouth..BrianBart wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 2:49 pm Dear Jason,

I get it Brian and I understand your feeling and your frustration. That's exactly why I'm concerned about this. You didn't deserve to be treated like this.
Although there are many examples that can be mentioned, even though someone pays for it, they still do not have the right to provide other people's stuff with a different characteristic.
I myself wouldn't do it at all.
But I think it's good that others than you take the trouble to clarify the forum opinion as such to Jason in this case.

Re: Weather34 Aurora MKII Version 2022
All, I have restored the weather34 logo on all four of the dashboards and in the info page.
To facilitate the use of my logo I have created an additional info page covering my site info. This also directly references weather34's creatorship of the template. Thus both weather34 and jmfweather logos are on the dashboards where it is clear that I am not taking credit for the template.
Hopefully this is the middle ground that we can agree meets the spirit of the requirements of using of the template and is acceptable to the wider community on this forum.
Apologies once more.
