I’ve been meaning to ask this question for a while, but I’m only reminded on the 1st of every month...
Would it be useful to anyone else bar me if in the almanac pages that the previous months data stayed available?

sorry for the delay but back in istanbul this morning for a week then back off again , are you referring to charts ? if so it can be done but not anytime soon unfortunately, just needs a small if date == 1st of month do that or something along those lines, applied to monthly charts , however is it really worth it for one day ? alternatively could create an additional last month chart page but as above not anytime soon very preoccupied with a lot of DIY on the home front having just spent shite loads on a bunch of power tools (Dewalt)..

* Minor visual changes nothing significant (19:27pm).
* Some preparation for upcoming API changes (19:27pm).
* Expect API changes at end of March (19:27pm).
* API change will render versions 9.34,8.34 broken (19:27pm).

I noticed a strange character (square bracket) occurring in my rainfall summaries (extra info).
I hadn't been there earlier ...
Any idea where it comes from and how to get rid of it ?

good morning the anomaly is in your API output from meteobridge. highlighted in red below , this comes from meteobridge itself so you need to look at meteobridge, it is not present in any other user sites. you also have other anomalies in your output like an m before the anomaly and some strange characters near the end . I dont see elsewhere and in the API master ,is this your own API modification?

It was supposed to be a 1:1 copy of your API description from your website, but in building it (and removing the commentaries ) it seems that one "[" too much was left over. The MB "inbuilt" provisioning was not working well those days, so I made my own copy, which works well (except for my self-made [).
I have corrected that and all is fine. In hindsight I could have had that idea myself ....

hi chuck hope all is well , those little things slowly return one by one now i dont have the challenge of translations.. a few upcoming API changes towards end of month but yourself being a long term user of davis/meteobridge you will reap the reward .
the template will revert back to Davis only has it completely eradicates constant support requirement which is top of my list to get a install and forget scenario and i think my recent two week break showed that as only emails for support i got were non davis hardware.

so anyway hope all is well .

I updated today. The zip of march 5th. But I encountered something strange. The backup went slow so slow that after 5-10 minutes I stopped the process. Started again and the same occurred. The update went smooth as always. On my server I found 3 backups.zip dated today. All if them had 3 - 5 alpha numbers behind the ***.zip. Is it me being inpatient or a bug.

sounds like you need to delete some previous backups . i always delete the backups from my server and store them on the desktop (pc) otherwise the backup increases and increases because it contains backed up zip files also. so if you have a multiple of backups on the server like 10 or something then the backup becomes 10 times bigger. in short keep the backups safe on your pc not the server.

Again, I probably didn’t explain properly.

Simply I personally would like to have in the charts view This Month, and Last Month. After all at present you only get to see a full months data in a single chart on the last day of the month for a short period of time.

I end up going back to meteobridge to get the graphs.

Perhaps only have it enabled as a feature in setup?

The other half of the consignment left here on Tuesday... Should be with you soon.

ok no problem but lets come back to this in a few months so i can put it together reliably as opposed to rush job then spend another week or so fixing things . as always these days looking for reliability as opposed to rushing things out the door.

bart i tend to remove all day.csv files at end of each month apart from last two days just a regular routine keep it tidy and smoothly running bit like servicing your weatherstation every few months or your car etc..if you use the backup you always have those deleted day.csv f files safely stored on your pc for other projects or uses etc..

Would this mean the end of Purple Air support ?

no changes to how template handles purple air has that is not derived via the meteobridge API .API change will be about more historical data and Davis Vantage dependability.basically no Davis Vantage means blank screen . My sole aim is to reduce support to a minimum level . Some will say the approach is harsh but I see alternative templates that are far more suited to a wider range of hardware and methods , so look at it this way “you dont buy a mercedes then fit parts from a hyundai” (that said im sure some would ..)

Yesterday I upgraded my MB Nano to a Nano SD. I am now missing some history in the Nano. I see templates but I don't see any whose output could resemble Weather34. The question is how can I add a Weaher34 template without any problems. Or how I get the info from my console folder into the MB. I want to generate another chart with the info. Or have I overlooked something that has already been there?

Update just pushed is quite a significant update(97 files were updated) it basically prepares charts for some new options and simplifies how their managed.
This update basically prepares a new screen layout for charts where you can break down the view on a monthly basis from January to December for current year . Has time permits later in year I will include previous years option to be broken down on monthly basis so you can compare this time with last year at this time if you have the data from 2020 . It is 80% done and basically it is just a simple selector to select any month in current year obviously if you were to select August now there is no data ! so it will be hopefully all done tried and tested by end of month not anytime sooner has Im off again on Friday and due back end of month
