Hello Chuck/Ron

yes we are well , glad the simple css bars are ok , another idea sitting around for months finally added on.

as for other things health wise we are fine but I guess like everywhere else the corona virus is taking its toll in many aspects of life we have seen an alarming spike upwards trend in new cases and sadly a spike in people not recovering that is increasing daily, we were floating around 950 new cases per day early august but now we are 1500-1700 per day .Lots of anticipation here of what restrictions will kick in , slowly day by day restrictions are returning but not in terms of 100% curfew/lockdown yet , but make no mistake warm weather brought people together its pretty dam hard to maintain social distancing especially here in the city.

whats next for template will hopefully get the IFTTT running next few weeks im not going to use pushover IFTTT is free and sufficient for the basic notifications don't need anything complex or payment requirement . just keeping it simple and at a maintainable level hence the removal of support for GW1000 that I looked at last weekend and basically that becomes very complex in terms of displaying all the possibilities of the ecowiit and alike stuff.
Ecowitt configuration example

8 sensors would require 50 or probably more new api strings
8 x current values
8 x daily max values
8 x min values
8 x max10 minute values
8 x min10 minute values
throw in others like averages , monthly , yearly, charts, almanac it gets way over my head in terms of structuring a comfortable support , with all that extra data and the additional load on the meteobridge itself running the weather34 API every 10 seconds with what would be over 250 or more values to calculate every 10 seconds I foresee a complete mess and lots of missing data especially if the end user is already running multiple services to other sources .the popular TL MR3020 has only a limited amount resource to work with.

so I apologize but see it from my side you might understand better that I just want things to work smoothly as possible.

To support the new Davis Air Quality device the template will have three redesigned bottom modules .Once the new air quality is in wide circulation for users this modules will be released and updated they are now done. optional purple air , lightning, indoor and a new Davis air quality small module.

This will also take advantage of Boris implementing optional other branded sensor devices running alongside your primary device . template will support
air quality, lightning when used with new firmware releases just make the additional branded device a primary sensor i.e air quality or lightning.

I reiterate template 100% will not support Ecowitt or alike with multiple extra array of temperature sensors so please don't ask . thank you..Brian

Hi Brian,

Just got the update - looks nice. :D

Having a little lightning today and I noticed that my notification popup seems to always report the distance as "0 mi". I checked meteobridge it it looks like the distances are showing correctly.

Sorry, it appears that Meteobridge is reporting 0 distance, as well. I rebooted yesterday - will reboot again and see if that helps.

hello chuck I checked your upload file it is showing 0 distance sometimes I have to reboot both mr3020 and wf hub to get the distance correct , no idea why it does it but normally it occurs after wf hub firmware update or random reboot.

ive pushed some updates just now reference PM10 in purple air .

bear with me on this update its got a lot of changes so risk of me missing something could occur . next week if your upto it we can test IFTTT ?

also prepared Davis Airquality module but yet to see it mentioned in a meteobridge firmware update when it does that will be a simple update .not expecting mine to arrive anytime soon just had a parcel delivered today I ordered in May from UK :-( ..

Brian,

Yes. I have seen it report 0 several times. Usually rebooting the Meteobidge router brings it back. I will also reboot the WF hub. I will get the updates in a few minutes. Next week sounds fine for IFTTT.

I am going to Pre Order the Davis, as well. Looks like Boris is busy adding the code for multiple stations & sensors. :D

Re: Weather34 TEMPLATE

In recent weeks the ever growing daily request for more additional data display is on the agenda.Whilst I understand that meteobridge will support a vast array of sensors, product brands simultaneously and thats a good thing for the meteobridge product owner , I totally get that and see it has a huge benefit to anyone wishing to expand their weather station with ease via a meteobridge product. But for me its pushed the limit of maintainability beyond my capability .

so here is my open answer to recent emails they all basically say the same thing just sometimes worded according to their request but basically all recent requests are looking for a wider sensor capability .

"hello mr G it is time you looked for another template or encourage others to move ahead with current demands.i cant personally keep up with the ever changing hardware capabilities. I've always tried to keep things at a level of maintainability but i think hardware capabilities have moved forward and the demand for more data from various setups and configurations has outgrown this template. i do it for free but i openly admit the last month an ever growing demand for displaying more data and so on is almost a daily request. in laymen’s terms its gone beyond me and requires someone else to develop something with a clean modern GUI perhaps at a cost . doing it for free has its limitations. sorry i cant give you the answer you want too hear but technology has moved on quite rapidly in recent years certainly since i started this template in 2015 now 2020 sees a whole different demand. brian..."

So don't misinterpret this ,it basically is saying template will not move beyond what it is now and if it slowly fades away into a distant memory then so be it no one or myself will lose anything ive always left it to the end users to decide in what they use without any obligation. As it stands now it doesn't cost me or the user anything in terms of money, fees etc apart from having a personal web site hosting capability but seriously the demand for more data display and a clean interface /GUI is the current demand and Im not the person who is going to do that or offer to get involved , I think its time for other developers to bring their web designs into the current methods of design and expectations. Its not an easy task but someone with fresh design ideas and enthusiasm it can be done , the last thing you all want is to become dependent on brands pushing you towards using cloud based data presentations accessing data in a pleasant useable manner..

Brian ..

Hi Brian,

I agree. I like the idea of keeping it clean and simple. To me that is the charm of the Nano and your template.

On another topic - I rebooted both devices yesterday and had 18 strikes this morning - still no distance. I rebooted the meteo router again, so we will see.

Update: Distance is now showing. Looks like both need to be rebooted - with the Meteo router last.

Brian,

OK. I have your latest lightning mod update. Will give a try - more storms on the way later today. :D

Thanks,

Hello Brian,
I have now installed the last update via Setup -> Update, unfortunately I have a strange looking menu bar on the desktop-look. Is there anything I can do to correct this error? In TV-Version the menu-bar displayed correctly. I hadn't installed any updates for a while.

Thanks for any help

Edit: i have found little more issues, the wind-rose have no legend.. It seems so, i must reload the full installer for the template and reconfigure it...
