I am new to the forum and new to meteobridge. I just purchased a TP-Link TL-WR703N from amazon. As expected, when loging in, all menus are in Chinese. The issue I am having is that when I try to load the new firware downloaded from the meteobridge site (meteobridge-tl-wr703n-v1.4.bin) it starts the progress bar for about 1 second after confirming to start and then it puts up an error message that is translated as:
error: 18005
Upload file version does not match with the models .
I have re-downloaded the file a couple of times to make sure it wasn't corrupted during download. It still won't work. Does anyone have any other suggestions of how to load the meteobridge firmware?
Thanks in advance,
Nick

After doing some digging, it looks like like this particular unit (if shipped with the latest firware 1.7) will not allow you to do a web UI flash of firmware that has not been signed.
1. Does anyone know a way around this? Is there another way to flash the unit?
2. Will I have the same problem if I buy a different unit listed on the meteobridge page? I really like this unit due to its size.

Re: Error: Upload Version does not match with the models
Sorry for all of the posts. Since it appears that meteobridge is only tested to work through firmware 1.6, I am going to return this unit and buy another that already has dd-wrt loaded on it. Is it safe to assume that if it has the english dd-wrt, I will be able to refresh with meteobridge?
the price was pretty much the same on eBay for this second unit. Since I like the compact size, I thought I would give it one more try.
