Deleting history on the meteobridge pro **solved**

Post by DAP »

I just got my ISS mounted on my roof, and would like to delete all history before connecting to weather underground.
A search turned up the instruction to delete all .raw files in /data/(some other directory). But when I SSH into the meteobridge pro, I can't find a "/data" directory.
What is the procedure to delete history on the meteobridge pro?

As far as I can tell, the history is stored in a database: /tmp/mnt/dbase
I'm reluctant to just delete this.
I'm tempted to do a factory reset, but I'm not sure that would delete all of the data.

Well, I succeeded, but there has got to be a better way.
I tried a factory reset, but this did not delete the historical data.
What I found was that if I changed the weather station, for a short while, trash cans would show up in the "Now" column of the live data page. If you clicked on the trash can, it would delete the historical data for that row.
I found that I could delete data for about 4 rows before the trash cans would disappear.
So, I would change the weather station, and delete 4 rows, and repeat until all historical data was gone.
After I was done with this, I think the meteobridge was a bit confused, because it was not receiving data from the ISS. (no flashing sense LED). After more messing about, the LED would flash but no data would show up on the live data page. Also, even though I had a display sequence enabled, it never started.
I finally re-booted the meteobridge, and about 2 minutes after a solid red LED, the display started sequencing. A minute or so later, it started reading data from the ISS.
Anyway, I can now proceed to set up my weather underground account without worrying about contaminating their data with bogus data (data collected when the ISS was sitting in my living room).

When I get you right, you opt for a button on the web interface to cleanup the total database?

You can delete all sensor data for a month, day hour on history page. Which month/day/hour
gets deleted depends on the year/month/day settings made in the upper area of the window.
"Delete ALL" deletes all sensor data for a selected period, "Delete One" only data for the sensor
selected in the sensor field.

To avoid accidental deletion an "Are you sure" dialog pops up.

Somehow I missed seeing the word "Delete" on that page.
