Rain accum misses first count

Rain accum misses first count
I've often wondered if it was correct, and low rain event recently have shown clearly that my uploads to WU are wrong in the rain accumulation.
Basically the first count does not affect the Accum figure, but does show up in the Rate.
This seems to happen when it has been a long time since any rain (not clear if it is after a re-boot).
This time, in the next day, the data for another short burst of rain makes much more sense.
Is this a recognised problem?? With MB or WU?
Thanks. We only get a little rain around here, and it is sad to see even less of it!

Re: Rain accum misses first count
I noticed something similar with PWS (weatherforYOU) and the UK Met Office WOW last night. Right after midnight, my MBP started reporting 0.01" of rain for 03/12/16 even though my VP2 console was showing 0.00 for today and continues to do so. What is odd, is that the MBP is sending the correct 0.00 to all the other Weather Nets it is sending to, and the LIVE DATA display is showing the correct 0.00 for the daily rain total.
No idea why only those two sites were sent that erroneous 0.01", but since I can't explain it, I turned those two off on the MBP and went back to having our dedicated weather computer send those site updates using an existing AppleScript.
So... while I am currently not using my MBP to upload data to our WU account, I can confirm that there is something strange going on with rain totals at midnight.

@johnn: Which weather station are you using?
Re: Rain accum misses first count
Hi.
The station is an Oregon Scientific: WMR-200.

Re: Rain accum misses first count
That is curious. It has been quite a while since I deleted data.
Thanks
Thanks

Thanks
I have spoken about this again.
Re: Rain accum misses first count
That certainly looks like the same problem. I had seen an earlier report of a similar problem here:lorenz1982 wrote: Look at this link viewtopic.php?f=56&t=9726

...but fixed.
Re: Rain accum misses first count
It happened again this morning...
The interesting thing is that it seems to happen when there is only one count in the first upload period (10min).

Not delete the rain from the station. So it works.johnn wrote:It happened again this morning...

After your earlier messages I cleared the stored data from the WMR200, but this morning I had the same trouble. Is that what you meant?lorenz1982 wrote:Not delete the rain from the station. So it works.

Re: Rain accum misses first count
If the station already contain the rainfall data, the next rain will be counted right. (Sorry for my bad English, but I know Italian and German only).johnn wrote:After your earlier messages I cleared the stored data from the WMR200, but this morning I had the same trouble. Re: Rain accum misses first count
I think I get it! Now I will have to wait until it rains again.
Thank you!
Thank you!
Re: Rain accum misses first count
Well, it's been raining over the last week and the same problem occurs. If there is one count in a upload period the first one is counted for Rate purposes, but does not get counted in Accumulated.
Big rainfalls seem to work fine.
Today it was even worse, with slow rain showing a rainfall rate three times before there is any actual rain reported!

Re: Rain accum misses first count
Well sounds familiar.
My davis is reporting the rain total correct but my meteobridge misses the first raincount.
Rate is correct, strange...
I am now updating to the latest version of may 18, see how things go...
