Why do I need to cycle power so often?

Post by Colin »

Early June this year and again 1st July Meteobridge seemed to stop working.
Looking at the Live Data tab it says something like 'No http upload activity" and 'No Weather Network'.
Everything else looks okay. I have to turn the power off for a minute or so and turn it back on again.
Meteobridge then does its thing and it all works again.
Very annoying because last June it happened while I was away and could not cycle power for a few days.
I have a Davis Vantage Pro with data logger connected as well as an unpowered USB hub.
Meteobridge is connected via Ethernet.
IS my unit ending its useful life?

Stopped again last night. Had to do a factory reset and set it all up again.
Hope it works now. Pity support will not offer suggestions.

I have the same problem.
Meteobridge stops working and needs restart. At least 2 times a week.

That is not normal behavior. Can you please allow me remote login as explained in the FAQ?

I need URL and password. Please send to "info@meteobridge.com".

Tried that several times but get a message when I click the link 'this URL'

The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.

EDIT: when I input a password and save, I am asked if I want to update the Weather Underground site password in keychain. Why is this? And what will happen if I agree?

EDIT Again: Okay worked this time. email sent.

I am having a similar problem with intermittent data capture on my DIR-505 connected to an Acurite Smarthub. Acurite supports uploading data to Weather Underground directly/natively. When I log in to my WU account online, all data is there with no gaps. Therefore, I know that the Smarthub device is not experiencing issues with connectivity between it and the weather station (Acu-Rite 5-in-1 station). My suspicion is that the meteobridge is losing connectivity to the service that it should be posting to. I have it set up to feed to both PWSWeather as well as CWOP. They both show successful posting once I reboot the Meteobridge but fail at some point after (minutes to hours). It has yet to successfully post for a solid day. I have my MB set to post every 5 minutes and retry indefinitely. Am I missing something?

I gave Admin access to my meteobridge and he turned off 'retry indefinitely'. Been working okay since. Give that a try.

And it is still working, so that seems to have fixed the problem.
