Just starting to play with the services. I assumed that the email service would be an easy place to start. But having no luck.
Reading here I notice that there should (may) be an error message, however I get none. As a test I deleted the "To Addr" before pressing <Test Email> ~ no error reported.
Screen shot normal settings

I have no clue where to start. Settings work from Thunderbird

First just double check the Authentication for what your email service requires as well as the port# as well as your User settings which may or may not be a full email address but must match the password in relation to the From Addr

Double checked the Server name, port, username and password. Changed the "From address" to Admin{AT}knob.com to remove a variable.

Thanks for the suggestion. mail[dot]xxx is confirmed. I think it is a password Authentication issue.

I found a clue! If I create a email event, and then <Test Email> I get an error message
Of course lking[at]knob.com is valid. using
https://mail... gets us down to a timeout error.
and how do you fix that?

SMTP error 504 is given by the server when a command parameter is not inplemented. Looks like your own-grown SMTP server does have a hickup. A look at its log files might give more insight.

Perhaps. My mail servers hosted by hub.org are working fine with with Thunderbird.
