Pro Red with multiple ISS transmitters

Post by Snapper »

Hi

I have a Davis VP2 with remote wind transmitter and ISS that has 2 x 15m extension leads to remote rain and remote solar/UV.
Currently using a Meteobridge Nano, but need to do some work outside that means the wiring between rain/solar sensors and ISS would become an issue.
If I were to buy a Pro Red instead would I be able to set up like this:

1. Connect UV and Solar to the solar powered Wind Transmitter. (Looks to be like a standard ISS PCB in the box)
2. Use existing ISS for temperature / humidity only
3. Buy new solar powered ISS (or wind) transmitter and connect it to the rain sensor only.

Using the Davis receive function of the Pro Red I appreciate I would loose the Davis VP2 console, but I could use the HWS template on a cheap Android tablet to view conditions...

Also, is data import from a Nano with 2gb SD card to Pro Red easy to accomplish, given the sensor layout will change?

Many thanks

The MB sensor mapping does not have the ISS restrictions that the Davis only suite does and I would imagine if the MBPro Red will work then so should the Nano and in fact the Nano may even have more functionality with Transmitter setup especially in regard repeaters etc One main difference is the Nano transmitter ID's support VP2 but not the Vue

But directly related to your question points re a MBPro Red, my take on this would be

1. This UV/Solar/Wind setup would be the actual Integrated Sensor Suite (ISS)
2. Yes temperature only ISS would be configured as a "Temperature Station"
3. Yes new solar powered ISS (or wind) transmitter could be configured as a "Rain Station"

Note that in regards the term "ISS" most transmitter boxes (PCB) are common and are interchangeable as far as station setup is concerned.

As far as the Davis Console is concerned the above setup would only loose the Rain option unless plugged to 1)
