MB reporting way too much rain **solved**
I recently replaced my poor WS-1090 with a Davis Vantage Vue plus Davis Weatherlink Live.
MB is working just fine until we had a thunderstorm early this morning. All 3 sites MB sends data to show a very rapid 1.8 inches of rain. MB live Data page shows 1.78 inches of rain at the rate of 81 inchrs/hr.
My Vue console shows 0.07 inches of rain and the Weatherlink Live sent 0.07" to weatherlink.com
I checked my station setup in MB, it shows 0.2mm resolution from the ISS and a rain multiplier of 1.00
So...the Weatherlink Live and Vue Console are reporting correctly, MB isn't.

Re: MB reporting way too much rain
And the MB is reading rainfall form the same rain gauge as WeatherLink?
Also cabled or RF?

Re: MB reporting way too much rain
Yes. MB is getting all its data from the Weatherlink Live. And the Weatherlink Live gets all its data on outdoor conditions from my Vantage Vue ISS as does my Vantage Vue console.

Also recall there being some discussion re funny rainfall amounts related to WeatherLink Live ?
Re: MB reporting way too much rain
I haven't seen that. Maybe you are confusing it with the "funny" rainfall with some Acurite Access devices?Mattk wrote: Thu Jul 18, 2019 6:06 am Also recall there being some discussion re funny rainfall amounts related to WeatherLink Live ?

* FYI - for those uninformed, do not think that the Access is supported by the Meteobridge. I say this because I almost regret bringing up and mentioning this device on this Meteobridge forum.

Re: MB reporting way too much rain
Yes, what Gus showed in his post is similar to what I am seeing.
My weatherlink live reports only to weatherlink.com
My Vue console only reads my ISS
MB reports to WU, AWEKAS and CWOP.
AWEKAS, WU & CWOP all showed 1.8" rain
Vue console and weatherlink.com showed 0.07"rain
Since I live, literally in the desert, getting 1.8" of rain in 15 to 20 minutes just isn't going to happen.
I too have MB weatherlink live set for 0.2mm resolution

Re: MB reporting way too much rain
Maybe there is a problem when setting the WLL to mm instead of inches. Perhaps the Meteobridge is interpreting those 0.2 mm as 0.2 inches.

No I don't believe I am confused? Maybe you can confirm if there is any connection?
Re: MB reporting way too much rain
Mattk,
OK yep I concur. I don't think they are related issues.
It seems to me that the problem with the WLL is with the WLL itself if the WLL app has the same issue. Which means that it probably doesn't make sense for a Meteobridge fix....as the issue is from the WLL itself.

Re: MB reporting way too much rain
No... This issue I am seeing can't be with the WLL unless it is the WLL improperly reporting values to the query from MB but reporting proper values to weatherlink.com.
My Vue console reports correct values, it gets those values from the ISS
My WLL reports the correct values to weatherlink.com and likewise gets those values from the ISS
I presume the Davis WLL app (Android) simply reads the data on weatherlink.com as the app is not bluetooth connected or local IP connected to the physical WLL when I am away from home.. Yet the app still works.
MB queries the WLL and reports bad (but consistent) values to the networks it sends the data to.
Which sounds to me, like MB is mis-interepting the query reply it receives from the WLL.

Re: MB reporting way too much rain
This morning, again.. Short thunderstorm this morning, my console reporting.0.02" of rain. MB reporting 0.5" of rain to WU. WLL reporting to weatherlink.com 0.02" rain.
Having seen the entire rainfall... 0.02" would be correct. Lasted about 15 minutes, normal thundershower, moderate rainfall for just a few minutes.
Problem is with MB not WLL. MB is misinterpreting what WLL is providing by about 25x for this storm.
