Weather station recommendations

Post by nordstrandqueen »

Hi guys,

I'm looking for recommendations for a new weather station.
My old TE831X has to be replaced as the wind sensor is broken... although it was a very cheap device it surprisingly did work for 7 years. :D

My requirements:
Price range: 400 €/$ max
Sensors: wind, rain, outdoor temp, min 4 indoor temp
Must be extendable with extra sensors (maybe compatible with my existing TS24C sensors).
Compatibility to Zigbee, Alexa and/or Apple Home would be great.

Thanks!
Stef

Ecowitt HP2551 complete station that comes with HP2551-C and WH32B and WS65 (all-in-one sensor array).

Or custom kit with the following; HP2551-C with WH32B, WS68, WH40, WH32, RS-00001. Yes, you need one WH32B and one WH32 and only the WH32 needs the RS-00001.

Add extra sensors to either configuration (WH31, WH41, WH51). Add GW1000 if you want more connectivity options to connect a Meteobridge or Weather-Display software.

Add Ambientweather.net $160 license to Meteobridge to gain Alexa support for all your live data. Or wait till Ecowitt.net adds this which will be a long time they say but they are working on it.

Your Meteohub will not be compatible, therefore recommend moving to Meteobridge which means you should add the GW1000. The Meteobridge software will not run on the SheevaPlug. You need new hardware for Meteobridge.
Meteobridge RPI | GW1000

Thanks for your recommendations!

I guess I have to get deeper into the topic again after all the years of just running the metohub I set up many years ago. :D
