Wish List Recommendation - Simultaneous multi-model support

Post by galfert »

I think it would be neat if the Meteobridge could pull data from more than one station brand at the same time.

This could become useful if for example someone has a Davis station but would like to add extra sensors that Davis doesn't offer. They could then add an Ecowitt GW1000 with PM2.5 air quality sensor and a lightning sensor, while keeping their Davis for the main weather sensors.

These extra sensors can then make their way into personal websites, into Camera image Overlay Text, into SQL databases, and even alarm triggers. All of it handled by one Meteobridge.

This is like a wish list recommendation that I'm sure many people would take advantage of.

If you agree, then respond to this thread to gauge interest. Maybe it will happen if enough people ask. :D

I agree 100% , this would be helpful as most Davis stations lack enough interesting weather-sensors such as lightning or pm2.5

With the Meteohub product is has always been possible to have multiple weather-stations active https://www.meteohub.de/files/meteohub-v4.7en.pdf page 28/29. You can also select what sensor has to be used.

But the memory constraint of meteobridge-router versions may makes this impossible. |Not for the Pro and Nano I think.

I agree as well. Davis is great sation but I am missing some senosrs. I am currently developing an extension to it (aditional temp sensros, lignhring detector, radiation sensors etc.) so I would appreciate some kind of generic API (HTTP request or UDP) for aditional sensors.

I intet to push data directly to Meteotemplate but It would be great if I could use existing solution for local data storing and presentation.

Well then I'm all for the PRO and NANO to gain this capability and maybe more people will become interested in upgrading to these models. I'd still like to hear from Boris on this matter and its feasibility.

Currently not on my list. Problem is that it will make configuration much more complicated and will only drive a benefit for a small number of users.
