Error Message. **solved**

Post by ValleyMan »

I have just tried to set up a TP-LINK MR3020 Ver1.9 to upload data from a Davies Weather Envoy to Weather Underground. All was all going well until I got the message 'Warning: This combination of hardware platform, firmware and weather station needs a USB 2.0 Hub to have the weather station connected.' The Station is shown as being live on Weather Underground it is just not transmitting data. I am not sure quite where the problem lies. The Envoy was purchased in circa 2005. Any advice gratefully received.

use a USB 2.0 hub. It does not work reliable without.

Thanks for your reply and I did actually spot that just after I posted

However I was still having problems until I came across a post that advised that the Envoy and Envoy8x communicate very differently. I therefore changed the station to ' Vantage Pro2, Vue' and it sorted out the problem. I might be worth making this clear in the setup instructions, but I do accept that the Envoy is no longer available and quite old now.

The Envoy is still certainly available, you may be getting confused with the Envoy8x which is something totally different but still something the MB can read if you actually had an 8x, the Envoy8X is definitely no longer available, even the 8x requires different Davis software.

In Davis circles the Envoy is a VP2, just doesn't have a display.
