Has anyone gotten the Meteobridge RPI to work on WiFi? Just wondering if it is only me and if I should bother pulling a new image or not.

When I go to Network tab and select Wireless LAN, and then click the drop down for Known SSIDs I see nothing. I've selected WLAN Region but it makes no difference.
When I go into OpenWRT / Network / Interfaces, I only see the LAN port.

I'm running on Raspberry Pi 4B 4GB with WD SandDisk SDSDQED-016G-XI for the SD card. Using CanaKit 3.5A USB-C power supply for the Pi 4. Using Flirc aluminum case which is reported to be a good solution with good WiFi reception.
Empty Known SSIDs drop-down:

I did fill in the WLAN credentials when it was connected.
Set it to wireless lan and rebooted.
I removed the cable and all is well for 25 days.

The RasPi got another ip-address as it is using another (W)lan connection.

I assume it can noly see the other wlan's when it is using the wlan chip.
Not when it is connected to a cabled-lan.

Okay I figured it out. I had to go into OpenWRT and turn things on. Maybe using WiFi is only possible when first setting up. I feel you should be able to go back an forth if needed as I do with my TP-Link.

Here are the steps that I performed to get WiFi to work:

1. Go into OpenWRT mode
2. Got to Network / Interface and add the wireless adapter (I called it WLAN) and select radio0.network1 device)

3. Save and Apply and then Restart to implement pending changes

4. Then got to Network / Wireless menu and click on Enable and then Save and Apply

5. Go back to Meteobridge web interface and then you can finally select nearby WiFi networks to connect to.

I’m still using my Nano SD but To test the RPi version I downloaded and installed the 3B+ version on a 3B+ I have using both a 2GB SLC micro SD card and also the newly added 8GB San Disk SLC micro SD card. I also downloaded the 4B version and installed it on a 16GB San Disk SLC micro SD card and installed it in my 4B.
They all booted up and configured just fine on wi-fi with all my networks appearing on the wi-fi drop down menu.

Hmmm maybe my trouble comes from restoring the config from my TP-Link backup. Maybe I'll do a clean install.

I'm having a similar WIFI issue on my RPI 4B. Along with a possibly related issue.

System info: After the initial setup, etc. I am unable to get a list of the available SSIDs. Now the catch - when I open OpenWRT to enable WIFI as noted above, I am unable to log into OpenWRT. The initial screen indicates an incorrect user / password. I have tried leaving the password field blank, used "root", "admin", "meteobridge", "passwd" and a few others, no login. Remembering back to when I did the initial install, WIFI SSIDs were available. So I grabbed another card, fired the RPI up. Went to the Network tab, and yes, WIFI SSIDs are available. But am still unable to login to OpenWRT. Also, if I save, apply, reboot with the WIFI enabled, it's dead on arrival after the reboot - I can't access it via LAN or WIFI. Thanks much -

I also at one point was not able to log into OpenWRT. I too tried a bunch of things. I forget what I did that finally got me in. I remember doing an SSH login with username root and then I think it prompted me for a password (maybe I used no password...can't remember) and then maybe I changed the password, and then I think that was what then allowed me into OpenWRT web interface. I should have paid closer attention but I didn't. I just did so many things that unless I tried to duplicate it I don't think I was really sure what it was that did it.

I don't want to take down my current active system to troubleshoot with and I'm sure all can understand that. Well I mean I suppose I could and just miss out on data logging for that test period while I test and mess around with another SD card....buy why should I?

I do have another Raspberry Pi but I also don't have an additional approved SLC SD card. I suppose I could try a regular SD card and that might let me test (just no logging available). But I think once I first launch Meteobridge for the first time the 14 day trial kicks in and then I'll never be able to test anything else again after the trial ends...so I don't want to waste my other Pi for just this.

It would be nice to have a test system though...hmmmm. Oh well.

If you have changed that, you might want to try the changed one.

It is a known problem but apparently we don't need access to OpenWRT...

"You don't need that tab" is an interesting statement - in that linked thread - it probably is supposed to mean "you don't need that tab in order to solve your issue here" -

However, if you understand what you see there, it can be a very useful tab - maybe not for the WiFi issue, but in general.

And if you think you don't need that tab, fine - but others might !

That openWRT interface can be extremely helpful for people who know what to do with.

But to conclude from there that it's obsolete and asking for its removal might be a bit premature ...

See you're running a 4 Gb micro SD chip I don't see listed in the approved SD card list. Wondering where you got it since I can't find it.

PS. Yes the new updated MB... soil does work but now but my Air Quality AQI wh41 or ws41 don't remember stopped working. If I remember right, if I add a second weather station and link to the same ip addy it starts working again. Hurd anything or is yours still working?

Look again. My RAM is 4GB as I have a Pi 4 with 4GB RAM. The SD card I'm using is the WD/SandDisk 16 GB SLC SD that I got from Mouser and is available in 8, 16, 32, and 64 GB sizes:

Yes my WH41 PM2.5 sensor is working. When you reboot the Meteobridge you need to wait up to 10 minutes until the WH41 transmits again. It only updates every 10 minutes....so a on a fresh reboot it will take some time (up to 10 mins) to show up.

If you have changed that, you might want to try the changed one.

That solves it. Login on the Meteobridge web interface as root, password root. OpenWRT can then be accessed directly via the button on the network tab in the Meteobridge web UI.

As a further followup, enabling WIFI in OpenWRT solves the no WIFI issue on the Meteobridge web UI. As an experiment I also did all of the WIFI setup in OpenWRT and that carries back to the Meteobridge web UI.

I do not recommend to dive into the openwrt screens below the meteobridge web interface. While experienced openwrt users might be able to handle this, doing wifi setup there will in 95% of situation make things worse. Meteobridge can be fully managed on its LAN and WLAN settings from the easy to use Meteobridge network tab.

Please note that I will not give any support on issues coming up after having clicked around on openwrt screens.You are then on your own...
