Added time resolution 5/10/15/20/30 minutes for exports and graphs

Post by admin »

With just released version 5.2 Meteobridge allows for exports and graphs on a time resolution of 5/10/15/20/30 minutes. This has often be requested as a resolution of 1 minute provides too much data and having it just every hour seemed some as too coarse. To have the new time resolutions working Meteobridge must operate in "per-minute storage" mode, which can be selected on "System - Administration" tab.

When selecting time periods and time resolutions for exports and graphs please keep in mind, that a combinations like a period of the full year in 5 minute resolution are not provided because it would result in too much data.

With the supplied templates, the time resolution in 5min, 10min, .. works very well. Unfortunately not with templates you have created yourself. Here I only see a value for the current year.

The resolution of the hour and minute works as before. I did not test export

Thanks for spotting this. It should be solved with just released update.

That's great !! :D

- now what is still missing in my opinion (and need) is a customizable time-frame for the the export (from date - to date), in an export event and in the general export (History tab). In History I can only export the current year - and in the export event only the current and the previous year (but I'm already holding data for more than 2 years (2019, 2020, 2021).

A customizable export time-frame shouldn't be too difficult to implement, should it ?

And, one more comment, for what what was written in the parallel post by @admin:
"When selecting time periods and time resolutions for exports and graphs please keep in mind, that a combinations like a period of the full year in 5 minute resolution are not provided because it would result in too much data blowing the capacity of the device."

I doubt that this will blow the capacity of a RPi4 - for a MB Pro I agree. My MB Pro is already fighting with a full Ecowitt sensor suite and a GW1000,
the backup of a 600 MB database takes already 7.5 minutes and the device is completely stalled during the backup whereas on my RPi4 a 1 GB database backup takes just two minutes and the RPi responds during the backup.

Adding absolute time frames to event driven invocations does not make sense imho.

What one might add is to have it manually generated for a freely defined time frame and resolution on "History - Import/export" tab. I will put this on my todo list.

That's good enough ! - Thanks.

I had been using the event driven export (one time  ) so far as it allowed me to export the previous year what I couldn't do in the History.

Just released update provides an option on "History - Import/Export" tab that allows to export data for a custom defined timeframe.

Hi there
it would be nice to have a higer time resolution for "Events->Zeitfenster" also.
15 minutes would be enough for my purposes.

Just released update gives a bit more flexibility on definition of time frames and resolution.

From the release notes May 1, 2022:
Meteobridge PRO, NANO SD, RPI: adds more flexibility to automated chart generation. Beside pre-defined time frames there is an option "user defined" added, that allows to define the start and stop time freely. Definition is done relative to the point in time when the event gets triggered. Syntax is the same as when calling a chart generation via URL parameters. Start and stop times are specified like "Yn" (year), "Mn" (month), "Wn" (week), "Dn" (day), "Hn" (hour), where the first letter indicates the time scale (year, month, week, day, hour) and the consecutive number indicates how many steps to go into the past. Example: "from:H6 to:H0" indicates a period from 6 hours in the past (H6) to the current hour (H0). Time resolution can also be specified from minutes to months. There are no plausibility checks, so you are responsible not to select too large data volumes or invalid time period definitions.

Hi, I’m wanting produce charts from data earlier than “last year “ on my Nano SD just updated to s/w v5.7. The post refers to a “user defined” option in charts for a time span but I cannot find this as shown. I have all the new times as shown in the earlier post in this topic, was this user defined option implemented on Nano SD? If so how can I find it. Thanks, Richard.

Please just tell what exactly you want to achieve.
