Hi all.. This week, I've been migrating off of my old Meteohub setup to Meteobridge running on an RPI. My weather station is a Davis Vantage Pro along with a Davis WLIP logger.. Previously with Weather Display, I was using it configured to connect to the Meteohub utilizing the MH's HTTP Data Logging Protocol (XML). Now that I'm collecting data from the Meteobridge, I've switched my configuration in Weather Display to uncheck the "Use with Meteohub" option, and I am also not using the "Meteobridge" option -- as that seems to only be able to utilize the Meteobridge's "Live data as XML" link, with no ability to pull missed data from the logger when WD is shut down.
So far, so good -- I think. But I was wondering if someone could elaborate on how the "pass-through" mode works behind the scenes.. Are the LOOP2 requests from WD actually being passed through to Davis datalogger? If so, does this interfere with Meteobridge's own ability to collect and log that data? Or is the Meteobridge formulating its own LOOP2 responses based on the data it is receiving? Is there a limit to how many pieces of software can request data simultaneously from the Meteobridge on port 22222, or is it limited to one at a time as the Davis IP logger?
Thanks
Rick
