Auto reboot setting?

Post by Gregmeteo »

I am unable to find a setting in the UI to reboot my system ever X days/month. I would like to do this so that my system is kept up to date without me needing to check in on it every so often for that purpose. Attached is what I was looking for, is it available, or can I suggest it as a feature addition?

Under [Services] > Select Service (Script Execution) > Select Event Type (Periodical or of your choice) > Add Service Event

Select Script interval etc
Select Predefined Script (Reboot)
[Save] and Test and it's done.

One has to be a fan of automatic reboots with automatic firmware updates, myself I prefer to check any firmware releases and if there are no benefits then I don't fix what is not broken. Also one could get caught out with possible newly introduced issues, when updates appears settled after a settling in time then is the best time to consider a manual update. Just my thoughts.

Thanks. I see that now, I'll give it a try. There were three .1 releases in the last year and 47 maintenance release, so while I don't want my system to auto reboot after each update (nearly weekly) I do want it to reboot at least 3-4 times a year to keep it current in a .1 release. Looks like "before each month" is my best bet for now.

I think what I am really looking for is an auto reboot upon .1 release option. That would be a nice feature IMO.
