Very high indications for the PurpleAir monitor!

Post by zakos52 »

Μeteobridge shows excessively high values for the PurpleAir device, when these (values) are greater than ~40µg/m3.

Ie. while for values smaller than 40μg/m3 it reads the channel A, for above ~40µg/m3 the values in the Raw Sensor Data do not correspond to channel A or B. Especially when the values are quite high, then there is an even greater deviation from the values displayed by PurpleAir on the map her,at the same time.
For example at 20:47 while the meteobridge shows 124µg/m3(1.jpg), on the PurpleAir map the corresponding value is 84.11 µg/m3(2.jpg)!
Ie. Raw Data on the PurpleAir map is in deviation from the Raw Sensor Data of meteobridge at the exact same time points, for values >~40µg/m3

A idea would be in the configuration of the device to be able to choose the channel A or B and which will display the values in the Raw Sensor Data. This way the problem might be fixed.

Platform: Raspberry Pi 4 Model B
SW Version: Meteobridge 5.5 (Feb 11 2023, build 2908), FW 1.3

I have some new questions in relation to my previous post.

1. Could we add the option in the configuration of the PurpleAir device to choose which of the sensors A or B will provide the raw data (the PurpleAir device includes two sensors, channel A and channel B)? In case this is not feasible, could there be a reference to which channel (A or B) provide the raw data?

2. I have noticed that the indications for PM1.0, PM2.5 and PM10 are not updated simultaneously.(1.png) Is this the reason why there is a big deviation among the indications when the values of PM are greater than 40μg/m^3?

I would be grateful if I would receive an answer from Boris, the developer of meteobridge, whenever possible.

Thank you in advance for your time and answers!

I don't have a device myself and there seem to be quite some variants popping up after a while. I was not aware that there are two channels now.
Could you please post examples of the json data the unit spits out when requested at "http://ip-of-device/json?live=true"?
I think I can take this as a starting point to update the Meteobridge driver.
