Offset Query

Post by G4MHJ »

I am currently using v5.7 having recently updated from a much earlier version.

The sensor in Station Setting - thb0temp has an offset of -33.500 Factor 1.000. Using this has been a work around for a internal temperature and although it is no way accurate it was good enough for me. If I change this to something else say -27.500 it gives me a realistic temperature that is close to my console reading but after a while it reverts back to -33.500. I have even restored a conf file that shows -27.500 which holds for a while.

Using a MB (Red) and updating with Safari on a MacBook.

PS: Forgot to say I am doing a SAVE at the bottom of the Station Settings page.

I think I have now tried everything to adjust the offset for "thb0temp". I was able to add an offset but that was a good while ago and on a very old version. Now I have the current 5.7 version I can change the offset but it changes back to -33.500 at random intervals. I think it held once for over 24 hours but 24 minutes now seems more the norm. Probably a very basic question but can the offset for thb0temp be changed permanently? I can change it for a short period then it reverts back to a wrong offset.

One would think thb0temp could be permanently changed as would all the Calibration offset/factors etc. Not something I have even tried and really don't see what the point is in trying to offset a temp value affected/induced by other factors when compared to actual internal (air) temperature, if in fact that is what you are trying to replicate? There would be no common trend/offset between thb0temp and actual internal temp.

I totally agree with what you are saying and to offset the processor temperature to relate approximately to an internal temperature is rather random but it had worked for me in the past. My current PWS displays internal temperature 11C because for some reason the offset is -33.500 (fixed) - better to display a figure of around 46C so at least I can keep an eye on it. I will now remove the erroreous section in PWS.
