Seems I cannot reach my Davis VP2 anymore (after MB update?)

Hi,
I have a MB Pro (red). Evreything ran perfectly OK until I did a reboot a few days ago. Last one dates probably more than 1 year.
Now I have the impression that I cannot connect my Davis Vantage Pro anymore. I use RF transmission. The MB box is connected to my router with a cable (LAN ?).
I have a few printscreens. Notice the red symbol in front of my station. When I check in the menu the majority of weather stations have this symbol, like No Access. And it seems that I have no data from the station
Thanks for your help.

Data storage is showing 100% full?

Can you also post a screen shot of your System>Information tab and specifically the top System box, don;t worry about showing the bottom sections?

Hi,
I have exactly the same problem with the same VP2 station, the same Meteobridge Pro (red).
The error messages are also the same.
The problem appeared on 03/30/2025 at 11:17 (without a reboot).
Since then, I haven't found a solution. There is no longer any data saved.
the maintenance section says: Database size: 0MB (0 MB free space available on media)

Thanks for your help.

Your MBPro (Red) is showing as a MBPro (Black) hence probably why RF no longer works.

Storage (USB Type/capacity) is also missing from the last screen shot which could indicate the USB has failed or full?

How old is this MBPro Red? Do you recall what make/brand/size of internal USB stick? What you could try is inserting an external USB and see if it startup normally?

You could also try checking the internal USB drive via SMB and maybe cleaning out old files if possible to free up disk space?

Hi,
It is strange indeed that the box appeared as black, I remember that usually the red was displayed ! My red box is several years old, maybe like 7-8 years.
I will plug an external USB stick to the box and see what happens. Is there anything to configure?
What is the internal USB stick (size, brand) you mentioned and what do you mean with "checking the internal USB drive via SMB" ?
Thanks

If you can access/login into your MB check under the System>Administration then Security Box that SMB is not Disabled, set to SMB Guests Allowed or SMB User Only which requires default password

You can then try and open the Data folder on the internal USB via \\IP.of.your.mb\data and check the files etc. Depending on what size and how often you have been storing data then the USB might be full? If unable to do this then maybe USB is failed?

Replacement USB's need to be industrial grade SLC and there is/was a list of compliant USB's which I just can't locate at the moment but typical USB stick would be a ATP Nano Dura in 1, 4 or 8Gb which I know do work.

Video on how to replace the internal USB id required.

Hi,
Live data show that internal usb is full.
When i reboot the box it says that format storage failed. The yellow led flashes, no Green led.
I tried to connect to the data file as you suggested and it says No such file or directory
Do you think the usb is dead?

If the unit is trying to format the drive then that tends to indicate a failed drive?

Being a red, you may also not be able to access the internal drive using SMB depending on what OS you are using? One thing you could try if you are able to login is try [Download or Delete files] via the Media Access option under System>Administration Maintenance Box

I only have the page above, no choice of exports or charts

Which to me indicates the other folders have no files yet the drive is 100% full. Another thing is the drive is only 512K, whereas I would have thought most Pro's were 1Gb, at least?

So assuming the internal USB could be faulty and as you can login into the unit you could try inserting a fresh USB into the front or back panel, typically the front as it has a full size USB connector, rear requires an adapter, then on the Database>Administration tab in the Maintenance window change the Database Media: from [internal USB storage] to [USB stick on front panel] and reboot.

Note you can use a consumer grade USB to test this, straight from the box, do not format.

If that works ok then the internal USB stick should be replaced and this should be a ATP NanoDura which is industrial grade SLC, not all that expensive these days but typically only available from the likes of Mouser, Digi-Key etc
