MB Aurora Soilhumidity condition

Post by wsnoordbergum »

I'm using Davis soil sensors which measure the humidity in cb
Currently it is very dry here, so the readings are quite high approx. 150cb
I noticed in the Aurora dasboard the soil block has it wrong...it states the condition as wet instead of dry...
Maybe more soil sensors could be added to the template?

Thanks for reporting this. Is it a factor 10 problem (15 instead of 150 cbar)?

No, the problem is that 0 means maximal wet and 200 is maximal dry. Quoted from manual of DAVIS:
0-10
Saturated Soil. Occurs for a day or two after irrigation.
10-20
Soil is adequately wet (except coarse sands which are drying out at this range)
30-60
Usual range to irrigate or water (except heavy clay soils). Irrigate at the upper end of this range in cool humid climates
and with higher water-holding capacity soils.
60-100
Usual range to irrigate heavy clay soils
100-200
Soil is becoming dangerously dry for maximum production. Proceed with caution.
It would be great if you could fix this. Are you planning to make more soil sensors viewable in the template? Perhaps soil moisture and soil temperature could be merged to save some space.

There is no plan for support of multiple sensors. I will have a look at the texts.
