Beeps

Post by figgis »

Have been using NSLU2 for about 3 months with no problems. However on Sunday it started beeping for no reason the only way to stop it was a restart after which it was useless I can't access it via my browser. Anyone got any suggestions.

This almost certainly indicates that the USB stick has failed. :(

If you have done data and system backups you will not loose too much info

BTW, I would try Low Level formatting before buying a new USB. Some times when we say the USB is fried it just means bad data is the reason why it doesn't work properly. There is software (freeware) which is able to 'reborn' the stick.

Googling USB low level format freeware may give some light on it.
