Hi,
I need to add a serial port to my eBox-3300. I originally ordered mine without these ports.
I opened my unit and I see where the connections need to be made on the motherboard, but I don't know what the proper pin-out should be.
I know the pin-out of a DB-9 connector, but I'm not sure about the pin holes on the mobo.
The pin holes look like this:
noooo
ooooo
I assume that the pin hole that looks square (shown in RED) is pin 1, but I don't know if pin 2 is below it or to the right of it.
Does anyone know this pin-out or be willing to take a look at their own for my benefit?
Thanks for any help!

Re:eBox-3300 Adding Serial Port - Need Assistance
I found it on the motherboard.
13579
24680
I'm worried that since I didn't order the serial port version of the eBox-3330, I wonder it there will be chips missing on the motherboard as well instead of just the DB-9 connector.
Does anyone know?

I soldered the connector in place and it doesn't seem to work. Either I got the pin-out wrong or the motherboard is missing a chip that I need on it.
Any suggestions?

On the underside of the mother board - are there a couple empty square plug-in's....? I just fried an E-box 4300 accidently (put 12.5v into it - big dumb mistake!!!!) and have to buy a new one now - I have the two serial ports on the 4300 that were just plugged in on the underneath side of the motherboard...wondering if it's similar...

Sorry to hear about your 4300. :( that's bad news.
Unfortunately I found out that my 3300 mobo doesn't have the serial controller chips installed so it was a waste of time for me to try and solder the RS232 connectors. Oh well, I guess I'll have to stick with a USB/serial adapter cable for my Vantage Pro.
