Meteohub and Weather Display solar/UV

Meteohub and Weather Display solar/UV
I have a remote station setup (Davis VP2 Pro Plus) with data being fed to my home PC using Meteohub and Weather Display software. Everything thing appears to be working fine with the exception I don't appear to be receiving any UV data but I am receiving solar data. I'm not sure if I have WD setup right and I did post a thread on WD's forum to address this. My question is does Meteohub support both solar and UV for the VP2 Pro station using Weather Display? I do have a WD Live website setup and I am receiving UV readings there. Thank you.

Re:Meteohub and Weather Display solar/UV
I have the same setup and the same problem, WD is displaying everything except UV.
I don't know if this problem is WD or MeteoHub related, on my question on the WD forum I did not receive a answer, maybe somebody on this forum knows the answer?

Checking the remote....

The station at the Meteohub end isn't relevant for the logging protocol (which is what WD reads).MJC55 wrote:My question is does Meteohub support both solar and UV for the VP2 Pro station using Weather Display?
i.e. provided the station has UV, then UV data will be included in the data sent to WD.
Whether or not WD has been set up to read UV data, I'm not 100% sure as I don't have a UV sensor.
You should be able to see if WD is taking any notice by looking in WD => View => WS2010-13/WS2500 data logger setup/info
Copy the text from there to a text file, then search for uv0 (I'm assuming that's your sensor ID). If you find it then you know that Meteohub is sending the data, and by studying the surrounding text you may be able to see if WD is taking any notice of it!
If that doesn't give any clues, I'm working on a Meteohub 'plug-in' and I could simulate a UV (& solar) inside that so when I next get the chance I could run some tests in my testbed copy of WD - but it may be several days, or longer, before I had time to do that.
PS. I know that Brian has very recently done some work on reading Meteohub solar data, so if you are not using the very latest release it may be worth trying that?
Re:Meteohub and Weather Display solar/UV
Looking at the data it does appear that UV data is being received so I would assume that I need to resolve the issue with WD. I was in contact with Brian last week because of an issue I was having with solar readings. He corrected that with build 25 of WD Ver 10.37N, which I have. My solar data seems to be working well. As I said in the original post, UV data is being posted on my WD Live site so now its just a matter of getting WD to post UV data. Thank you. Yes, as expected, uv data is there in the data received by WD, e.g.
Is your WDL site beeing fed clientraw data direct from Meteohub or from WD? If you are getting UV there, I'm guessing that it is fed direct from Meteohub?

so if that data isn't appearing in WD then it seems likely to be a matter for Brian.<UV date=20090419214633 id=uv0 index=6.5>

Re:Meteohub and Weather Display solar/UV
I've done a simulation now and that confirms what we already thought.
On my setup I must have some obscure debug setting enabled which means that WS2010-13/WS2500 data logger setup/info includes extra notes on the process.
For sol0 records I see confirmation that WD has spotted the data, e.g.

uv0 records are there in the xml that Meteohub sends, but aren't noticed at all by WD (yet).<SOL date=20090420134407 id=sol0 rad
raw solar found rad=17.0>
Re:Meteohub and Weather Display solar/UV
Both my WDL and Weather Underground sites are being fed data directly from Meteohub. I get UV readings on both sites. The WD program on my home PC also receives data from Meteohub then it's uploaded to a website that I built using WD. As you said, the UV data is getting there but it's not getting processed by WD. I have posted a thread on the WD forum but haven't heard anything back yet.

Re:Meteohub and Weather Display solar/UV
Same issue here....I have a WMR200 and submit from meteohub to wunderground....the UV is posting under current conditions on wunderground but not in the history part of wunderground. Is this right?
When I had WD directly connected to my WMR200 I got UV on my screen but since it is going to meteohub to get it, I dont get UV on WD main screen. It used to be up near the wind speed and was colored yellow I think. I dont have a radiation sensor but WD used to compute it for me.

I have both UV and solar sensors. I don't believe Weather Underground post historical data for UV. They do for solar though.

Re:Meteohub and Weather Display solar/UV
Hmmmmm....I wonder if it is more beneficial to grab the meteohub data to WD and then submit it to wunderground from wd vs meteohub sending it. Meteohub does not convert UV to solar like WD does. But WD is not seeing my UV data from meteohub either.

I found the option.skyewright wrote:On my setup I must have some obscure debug setting enabled which means that WS2010-13/WS2500 data logger setup/info includes extra notes on the process.
If you want the extra notes to appear in that window, set: Setup => Advanced/Misc Settings => Program (tab) => Log raw data for testing (as rawultimeterdata.txt)
N.B. Doing that adds substantially to the volume of text stored in that window (and it does not result in any text in rawultimeterdata.txt! ).

I have reason to believe/hope that Brian will be looking tomorrow at how WD handles uv0 from Meteohub...MJC55 wrote:I have posted a thread on the WD forum but haven't heard anything back yet.

Or sooner!
If you try the latest .zip update you should now find that UV is picked up.
I just tested that release and I now get a "yes UV" in the debug output and a UV figure in 42009vantagelog.txt. :)
