NSLU2 updated to V4.2 sensors page error connect socket 127.
Have been using the NSLU2 with WRM-200 for almost a year now. Was on 2.6 then updated to 3.1 and then up to 4.2c. Now since moving to 4.2 I am not able to specify any sensors. Have tried redoing firmware via browser install, also by copying into the transfer folder and by the 2 memory stick method. Notably I also now get an error when trying to copy the firmware into the \\transfer folder that acess is denied.
Ofcourse the main problem is that I cannot specify any sensors....
"Warning: Weather station does not have a sensor assigned
error connect socket 127.0.0.1:5555 :Connection refused
Warning: Data logging has been halted."

Re:NSLU2 updated to V4.2 sensors page error connect socket 1
Could you please provide a screen dump of your "weather station" page? What does "meteohub log" tell us on "Log Files" page?

Re:NSLU2 updated to V4.2 sensors page error connect socket 1
Thanks for the reply. Just had to power cycle the NSLU as it was giving me Page Cannot Be Displayed. (its done that a few times after I've power cycled the WRM-200). It did boot right up and let me login.

Weather station settings look ok.
Could you please also add the "meteohub log"? It is the third logfile from the drop-down menu.

Your USB stick is faulty. Please try a new one.

Re:NSLU2 updated to V4.2 sensors page error connect socket 1
Thank you both! Makes sense given how much trouble I had getting the image onto it. The disk image tool from winxp kept failing between 20% & 80%. I finally did get it to install by doing the two stick method (placing v4.2c on 256MB stick and then having NSLU copy to the main 2 gig stick). It took 60+ mins to copy but then Meteohub was bootable. Weird part here is that I was on v2.6 (or so) with no issues other than know ones for 9 months or so.
Will try a different memory stick and get back to you here.
Thanks again

Thanks YJB, this is the entire meteohub log and system too. Would be a mess to change my memory stick once again (third time..)

Re:NSLU2 updated to V4.2 sensors page error connect socket 1
That's really the gist of it right there -- there's a problem writing data to the disk. Odds are it's corrupted and gone into read-only mode and thus fails to record any configuration changes and can't create the monthly raw data folder, and because of this it shuts down logging.logger (29.04.2009 10:17:53): failed making directory /data/weather/200904: Input/output error

if i create a clone on a new memory stick is the problem preserved? i'm afraid to loose all data..:S
Re:NSLU2 updated to V4.2 sensors page error connect socket 1
If any Meteohub system files are corrupted on your current stick, cloning it will copy the problems over to the new stick.
You should be able to back up your data off the old stick, either via rsync or the smb network share, then create a new USB stick image following the instructions given in the manual (via dd/diskwrite), and copy the archived weather data to your new stick. That's how I restored my data following a USB stick failure last year, and other than one corrupted entry in my data file that I needed to delete via the "inspect data" window in Meteohub, I had no problems.
