Alix 1.D hang up/humidity problem ?

Post by paolo_ver »

Hello!

I have this big problem with my Alix1D, sometimes, especially when it's raining, the hardware hang up or worse the main power line shutdown ! :angry: (shortcircuit?)

I think it's an humidity problem! I have the alix in a wet environment (in winter the house is very cold) so what can I do to solve this problem ? :ohmy:

I didn't find any enclosure suitable form my board to protect itself...:blink:

Thanks for any answers! ;)

Do you use the standard PSU?
I found that the standard PSU (at least as supplied in the UK) was very sensitive to power fluctuations. This caused it to lock up occasionally even though I had it plugged into a UPS (APC Back-UPS, so not a full 'online' UPS).

Changing to a small "power brick" solved those problems.

IIRC someone else had similar problems, probably static related, in a very dry atmostphere?

This was discussed on a thread here somewhere.
<fx: sound of searching...>
Ah. here it is.

Maybe your problem is related?

Hi,
thank you for the info, I've tryed to put a small-brick as new PSU (a 12v for netbook that fit ok), soon after that I have an other hang...:( but now it works fine...:) So I'm not sure if it was a bad restart problem of an other hunidity problem...:blink:
So I'll try more this power brick...especially looking for rainy or foggy days...stay tuned! :laugh:

Paolo.
