eBox 330 Locking Up
I have installed Meteohub onto an eBox3300 and successfully produced output to the FTP server and Weather Display Live. The problem i'm having is the eBox locking up and will not continually run more than a couple of days. I can't log into the software and the only cure is to power down and restart. Please can anyone help?
Re:eBox 330 Locking Up
DO you find that it still does uploads but the web interface and ssh are no longer accessible? Do graphs stop working and it loses all the data from the lockup period?
I am asking because I am having this problem with Sheeva and want to find out if it is more of a general software issue.
Mod: Take a look at the issue posted here and please chime in. I think you will find the symptoms reported quite familiar.

Re:eBox 330 Locking Up
Hi, firstly thanks for coming back to me with help, I need it. The problem I have doesn't seem to be the same but you never know.
Today again the eBox locked up running Meteohub after running about 15 hours. There seems no external cause and the only items plugged up are the ethernet cable to the router, the Davis Envoy and the power supply. Before resetting the eBox by powering down and then up again I tried to wake the software with my laptop via both of the IP address (192.168.1.77 & 192.168.1.103) nether worked but I had no trouble speaking to other LAN devices like the IP Camera i'm using.
Anyone got any ideas how to resolve the problem please?
Regards

Re:eBox 330 Locking Up
No, I do not think it is the same at all. Mine turned out to be a fussy SD card not working well with the kernel.
Although in troubleshooting my issue, one thing that did come up which has caused very similar issues was power. It was suggested that the device be put on an "online" UPS, that is as opposed to a standard standby or switching type.
If you don't have access to such a UPS, do what you can to check the power and supply. I would suggest at least put it on some type of UPS as the next step.

Re:eBox 330 Locking Up
I also have an eBox3300 with 512MB of RAM connected to the router via ethernet and to Davis Vantage Pro2 through a serial datalogger. I'm having exactly the same issue, every one or two days eBox3300 come locked up. It is turned on, but it is not working. No response through http, then I connect monitor and keyboard, but the screen is black an keyboard doesn't work.
When switching off and restarting again, I see data for the locked up period is lost.
I am suffering this situation since I bought the eBox.
Any idea?
Thanks in advance.

Yes Boris, eBox is updated with 4.6h since May and after that the behavior is the same.
This eBox has also a wifi card. I have linked with router by wifi connection and the same issue.
Regards.

Re:eBox 330 Locking Up
Hi, I don't even get 24 hours without lockout now. I've tried 3 types of router with no change thus far. I'm running 4.6G Build 3290 which was the latest at the time a few weeks ago. If there is an 4.6H I'll give it a try and get back to everyone.
Many thanks for the input.

Re: eBox 330 Locking Up
I continue suffering the same trouble, but I have tried something that could bring some hopes to this. I thougt some setting in the BIOS could be affecting the meteohub's performance.
Well, in Advanced tab, there is an option "CPU Speed Setting By" which value is "Divide By 1" by default, this is 1000MHz of CPU speed. I did set Divide By 2, so eBox is now working at 500MHz. Since I made this change no more locks for 2 days and goes on. I know it is not enough time to be a success, but it is a beginning taking in mind that it was locking up for about 2-4 times by day.
Soon I will let you know how this is going.
Regards.

Re: eBox 330 Locking Up
I am happy to say that since I made the cpu speed down to 500 MHz from eBox BIOS, no more locks!!
. It has been working fine for 6 days now, and goes on.
I hope this could help somebody else with the same trouble.
Regards.

Re: eBox 330 Locking Up
that is interesting. good news, no meteohub bug. bad news, doesnt seem to be as stable hw as expected. however, driving the ebox at lower speed shouldnt be a problem for meteohub software.

Re: eBox 330 Locking Up
Perhaps it is just an issue of a few units. My first eBox 3300 (256Mb, 1GHz) has been working perfectly at http://www.meteosantacruz.com for more than one year and never has locked up.
