You can easily have your station listed on this map, by setting a map name on "settings page" of your Meteohub and activating data upload to Meteoplug. Being part of the map does not need a Meteoplug activation.
You can call or embed this map onto your homepage by browsing to http://www.meteoplug.com/cgi-bin/meteoc ... 3b272b2426". You can also append "&latitude=40.77&longitude=-73.78" to the URL in order to set center of the map to NYC, for example.
More details on Meteoplug-Maps can be found here: http://wiki.meteoplug.com/Maps_and_Groups

Re: Join the map
is there also a command to already zoom into the map by default?
Re: Join the map
Good idea, I just implemented that. You can use URL parameter "&zoom=1" to show whole world and can go down in integer steps down to "&zoom=15" for closest view.

Re: Join the map
I did enable the uploads and I was hoping to see myself on the map, but I'm probably doing something wrong:
In the settings section of my meteohub is gave the station a name, entered the mac address of my sheevaplug and defined a 10 min interval upload.
I'm also running 4.6m build 143.
So the question is, what did I miss?

Re: Join the map
Does meteohub show you this MAC address "0E:AD:00:00:00:03 " of your sheevaplug?
This is not the right MAC address. A lot of sheevaplugs report this MAC, but it's wrong.
Please look at the bottom side of your sheevaplug, there is the true MAC address.

Re: Join the map
Thanks that was the culprit!
This, of course, raises a question: Why is the MAC address needed by the map? It's not really using it, since the real MAC address used by the Sheevaplug is indeed the the address from u-boot and not the hardware MAC address. I've verified this on my router.
I've looked at this, and I think that the reason behind this "same MAC address" issue is that we are all using the same image generated by Boris. As described this happens when we use other people's builds of u-boot, and answer 'yes' to the question 'Override Env parameters? (y/n).
To fix this, if it is really an issue, we must update the ethaddr variable on the environment to reflect the actual MAC address of our own SheevaPlug.
Sheeva>> set ethaddr 00:80:AB:CD:EF:01 # check the label on the back of your SheevaPlug for the actual value
Sheeva>> saveenv
Not sure what Boris wants to do with this, and what is the best way forward, not a pressing issue at this time anyway I guess

Re: Join the map
It is right that MAC address on SheevaPlug can be permanently set in uboot.
The procedure to update uboot and to make it ready for booting from SD card as described in my manuals is designed to preserve the MAC your SheevaPlug had when coming from factory. Unfortunately, one of the resellers didn't handled that in the right way when starting selling SheevaPlugs with meteohub preinstalled and therefore there are some Sheevas out there having the same MAC. When Meteohub does detect this MAC it gives an additional input field on settings page, where the user can place the original MAC of it's unit. Having that, Meteohub uses this MAC for identification with the Meteoplug service.
When your SheevaPlug has the MAC explained above, the most straight forward way would be to change it back to it's original value in uboot as described by YJB. But you need a working serial console for your sheeva to get access to uboot during boot. I don't think this is something for the average user. However, you can take my Sheeva install instructions to get contact to uboot and make a permanent MAC resetting if you like.

Re: Join the map
Thanks Boris,
In this case it did image the Sheeva myself, I didn't by it through a reseller, so it might be related to one of your "early" Sheeva images.
What is going to happen with my license if I change the MAC address?

Re: Join the map
SD card images can't do that. It must be related with the uboot install.
However, when you change the MAC the system ID will change. Please write down old System ID and activation code. When system ID changes, you can use these tools to migrate activation code to new system ID.

Re: Join the map
My map location in Michigan seems to show I'm an unregisered user.I didn't think I was. Where in meteohub do I check this out?
Re: Join the map
This reflects if your are a registered Meteoplug user (not Meteohub User). The map feature is something Meteoplug provides.
Re: Join the map
The data my station shows in the map is not right as for rain.
While I'm sending (all-sensosrs.xml) <data timeframe="year1"> <item sensor="rain0" cat="total" unit="mm">449.32</item>
I can read an incredible year rainfall. What's the source of the data? What's the problem?

Re: Join the map
Assuming that you are "meteosivilla.com" you can see that first data provided to Meteoplug is from August 2010 (see "Data Since" field).
So Meteoplug does not have any knowledge of rain which has been falling before that. When you upload data for missing months of 2010 to Meteoplug and schedule a Recomputation via Meteoplug Web-Admin, the values should match your expectations.
As non registered users can't upload history data, I doubt that the yearly field should be displayed for those at all...
Hm... I will rethink that.
However, you can create a demo account for your station to check if values will go right.

Re: Join the map
I look at the map occasionally to see if anyone's near, if anyone's filled in a vacant area (just one in Canada) and when I saw a couple in the Atlantic, I had to check them out. One is in the Canaries. Another is southwest of Ireland, and l wonder if the minus sign in front of the longitude is in error.
Re: Join the map
Where do you collect the data to the map, because there are fields with wrong figures and some others are empty?
What file is needed to be updated?
You can see real data at http://www.telefonica.net/web2/vilacardona/LIGERO.html
An sorry for not answering your assumtion (I was on holidays, without access to internet):
