Update 4.6t

Post by admin »

Update to Meteohub V4.6t (NSLU2, x86, SheevaPlug) brings these features:
  • improvement on Vantage logger process, fixes situations where data logger gets stalled.
  • new variable "actual_thb*_fc_vpicon" which reflects field 89 of Vantage LOOP packet
  • support for new weather network "meteonews" is now up and running
  • supports daisy-chained Meteohubs with a Vantage connected to the first Meteohub in the queue (was broken since 4.6r)
  • removes option for updates by selecting a file to be uploaded from the browsing pc (update web) as this does not work properly for larger packages.

Strange, I tested this on quite a few machines. However, could you please give me login on ports 22 and 7777?
When the error is reproducable it will probably be easy to fix.

I updated too and have the same problems as rongnic, and a port 5500 problem.
You still have my login data.

That was a tricky one... a buffer overflow that appeared under certain conditions. hard to find...
Please update to 4.6t again to get this fixed.

Build numbers of the new version are:
- NSLU2: 195
- Sheeva: 316
- X86: 4837

Could you please give a more complete dump of your log file (including build number of logger) and how many records have been inserted from vantage's internal logger.

The snippet you included above just have the message about a too big data gap, but logging time looks ok. Are you sure being on the most actual version?

Yes is the actual Version.
2499 data records inserted.
The system is very slow at the moment, cannot copy the protocol data.

I did the update this morning as well, but it looks fine over here:

logger (28.11.2010 10:58:41): connect station 1 (Vantage via TCP/IP).
logger (28.11.2010 10:58:43): connect station 2 (System Data via Plug-in).
logger (28.11.2010 10:58:43): station 1 (Vantage), wakeup sent.
logger (28.11.2010 10:58:43): station 1 (Vantage), syncing.
logger (28.11.2010 10:58:43): station 1 (Vantage), gettime request sent.
logger (28.11.2010 10:58:43): station 1 (Vantage), time offset of Vantage: -2 minutes
logger (28.11.2010 10:58:43): station 1 (Vantage), eeprom request sent.
logger (28.11.2010 10:58:44): station 1 (Vantage), rain collector size 0.2 mm per tick.
logger (28.11.2010 10:58:44): station 1 (Vantage), transmitter 1 active as station type (#0) "ISS".
logger (28.11.2010 10:58:51): station 1 (Vantage), data gap of 158 minutes, start reading Vantage's internal logger after 2010-11-28 08:15 (Vantage's local time).
logger (28.11.2010 10:58:53): station 1 (Vantage), internal logger provides 425 pages of data.
wmr928fulleval(28.11.2010 11:00:01): recomputation of weather data started.
logger (28.11.2010 11:02:31): station 1 (Vantage), finished reading internal logger, 16 records inserted.

The data gap was caused by a disconnect between Meteohub and the Vantage, not sure why that happened, but has already occurred a couple of times. Boris, what information do you want me to collect if it happens again? Also, while MH is not able to talk to the Vantage, if continues to upload data to weatherlink, so I'm sure it was not offline.
