I'm intending to replace the usb stick I'm currently using with a Transcend P5 reader fitted with an Integral Endurance 8GB SLC SD card but I can't get the iConnect to produce a clone. I'm running Meteohub 4.9a Build 947 which should produce a clone by inserting the stick and pressing the front button until the LED above the stick starts flashing. No matter how long I press the button the LED does not start flashing and I have tried this with three other usb sticks without success. Any advice?

iConnect USB stick clone not working?

Re: iConnect USB stick clone not working?
Looks like the background job controlling that is not running for some reason.
Please do a reboot on "Maintenance" page and try again.

Rebooted twice, didn't work either time.

Just checked with a friend who is also running Meteohub on an iConnect, the clone function doesn't work for him either.

Re: iConnect USB stick clone not working?
Gordon,
I've got the same issue. I noted this in the announcements part of the forum as a potential bug under 4.9a. I noticed it with 4.9 initially but didnt say anything because I wasnt entirely sure it was a problem with the program itself, the build version or a problem with my USB stick. I've since replaced the defective USB stick and rebuilt my system using a fresh 4.9a image. This has solved the strange system crashing issue I had and this new USB stick (4gb ATP Nano Vision) is rock solid. Now that I've got things sorted on my end, I've been patiently waiting for Boris to dig into the clone issue. As its not a major problem for me, I've not bugged Boris with it as I'm sure hes quite busy with other stuff.
Just as an FYI since were talking about it, I've also noted a couple other minor issues (one, a non broadcast SSID network name connectivity issues and one as strange behaviour of statically assigned IP's that should only show up as a wired IP on a router log, showing up as wireless connection ...neither of these issues are serious problems for me but simply something I made a a note of as odd behaviour.

Re: iConnect USB stick clone not working?
Dave,
As Gordon's near neighbour, I was the other user who found the clone function didn't work. I ended up using Ubuntu on an old laptop to copy across the partitions to my new card. Worked ok and all I had to do was re-activate the licence with the new id.
What I have spotted with the laptop is that nominally same size sticks and cards don't have identical sizes - a few bytes difference. I wonder if this is the reason the clone doesn't work - does the hardware have to be identical?
I've also noticed the iconnect doesn't like hidden ssids. Even if I make the access point visible and it connects, the moment it is hidden again, the connection drops and won't re-establish. Actually, this is quite annoying, as I've had to site the station where I can use a wired connection and not where I would like to place it.

John / Gordon,
Heads up...
Boris released 4.9b and its supposed to take care of the clone issue. I'm away from my system but will try it out when I get back. Hope its fixed!

Re: iConnect USB stick clone not working?
I've just updated my system and tried the cloning function. Seems to work perfectly, lights flashed then turned off after a few minutes, record of successful cloning in Meteohub log. Thanks Boris!
