Gust and monthly rainfall not reporting to weather bug prope

Post by WX4GPS »

I am running an iConnect meteohub, and the data being reported to Weatherbug is not reporting the proper gust information, per speaking with the weatherbug technicians they said there is a problem with the reporting of the meteohub, as the gust should be the highest wind speed since midnight, also the monthly rainfall is not updating either, it remains at 0.00" Anyone else experiencing this?

"gust should be the highest wind speed since midnight" really, never heard of that definition.
Usually it is highest windspeed of last 10mins or so.

I have attached the email from Weatherbug and what their Chief Technical Officer advised, and this is the way all there first order stations report as high for day, but they call it a gust on their site. Even so.. my station gust speeds are typically always lower then the avg speed being shown. But I do believe meteohub should be reporting the high gust for the day as is other networked software programs do, this is just the wording weatherbug choose to use.

Here's what my CTO said. Let me know if I need to reach out to Meteohub about anything.

Yes, we treat the gust as the high for the day. If the average wind speed gets reported as higher than the gust then that sounds like a meteohub problem.

Image Here is a comparison of what meteohub is producing late in a day, compared to any other weatherbug station not on meteohub. I am noticing no rainfall is reporting for my station either which is being reported to other networks....

Weatherbug gust report will be changed to maximum gust of the day with next update.

Protocol definition I have, allows for reporting rain rate and daily rain.
Meteohub supports both values. So no idea why monthly rain does differ.
Does weather bug sum this up itself, or has a new parameter for this been invented?

iConnect is picky on USB sticks during boot. Please try another stick.
