firmware flash failed **solved**

Post by EAS »

I am new and tried to flash a TP=Link MR3020 with Meteobridge firmware v.1.2 but it did not take. I can ping the ip and telnet into it. but when I try to reinstall the meteobridge firmware it returns a message that it "can't open the file". I also tried to TFTP into it and it won't open it. Both host and client are on the same net 198.162.1.1 (router) and 168.162.1.2 (computer) running XP. Any help would be appreciated.

Upload via TP-Link web interface should work fine. Cant you reach the stock web interface?

Started with the TP-Link firmware upgrade interface. Said it successfully flashed. Can reach the OPEN-WRT via telnet. Tried to reload Meteobridge firmware but message said it won't open file. Router is in failsafe mode.

Bring it out of Open-WRT fail safe mode. No idea how you did get it there.

Thank you for your help. I got the meteobridge to run. I am using a Davis Vantage Pro2 to a serial connection. I am using a Keyspan serial to USB converter with a Belkin hub to handle the Version 1 to 2 issue. Does the meteobridge have the USB driver installed, or can it be installed?

Thanks

Meteobridge supports RS232-USB converter based on cp210x, PL2303 and FTDI chipsets.
If your converter uses another chipset, you are out of luck. Metebridge is extremely tight
on flash and RAM, so just the most prominent drivers are included.

As you can get a PL2303-based converter for a few $ on ebay/amazon that shouldn't be a roadblock.

Keyspan USB converter uses a TI chipset and won't work. I am ordering the correct converter. Thank you for your great forum and products.
