Asus WL-330N3G vs. WL-330N

I saw that I could use an Asus WL-330N3G for a Meteobridge, but when I was looking at picking one up I noticed that there was also a WL-330N model that did not have the 3G for about $20 cheaper. Would the same firmware work on both models or is there something about the 3G version that is necessary?

I think I figured an answer to my own question. I had assumed that the micro USB port on the device could be used for weather station communication, but I'm sure that this is not correct. The 3G model would be necessary for USB communication.

The WL-330N is not supported by OpenWRT, which is the OS underneath Meteobridge application code. Therefore, no go with the WL-330N, sorry.

The WL-330N3G has OpenWRT support and also has a full working 1.x USB driver implementation that makes using a mandatory USB hub (as with the Atheros chip based TP-Link and D-Link router) obsolete. If you want to spare the external USB hub the WL-330N3G is a fine choice for Meteobridge.
