Help With Twitter - Duplicate Tweet Error **solved**

Hello everyone,

I am trying to upgrade from a custom-brewed setup to the Meteobridge. I am trying to upload to Twitter using the Meteobridge, but have not had success. It started out with a lot of SED Unmatched errors when using the template variables to now having a problem were it says "Twitter-upload" with an error of "Could not post tweet (duplicate)". I disabled it for now, but I have now lost my feed to Twitter.

The following info was used for the message text:

#wx [forecast-text]; Temp [th0temp-act=F.1:--] F; Dew [th0dew-act=F.1:--]; Pressure [thb0press-act=inHg.2:--] %; Wind [wind0wind-act=mph.0:--] mph at [wind0dir-act:--]º; [Uhh]:[Umm]:[Uss] UTC

I have authorized it with Twitter and my Twitter @perkasieweather and added the timestamp as suggested from another post.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris Zenzel

Hi Everyone, I was able to get it to work by removing [forecast-text] and making it :
#wx Temp [th0temp-act=F.1:--] F; Dew [th0dew-act=F.1:--] F; Pressure [thb0press-act=inHg.2:--] %; Wind [wind0wind-act=mph.0:--] mph at [wind0dir-act:--]º; [Uhh]:[Umm]:[Uss] UTC

However, using Chrome to admin the Bridge produces all %20 and %23 on spaces and hashtags.

Hello everyone,

After further investigation of this I keep getting the following posted to my Twitter:

Code: Select all

%23weather%20Temp%2071.8%20F;%20Dew%2055.8%20F;%20Pressure%2029.00%20%;%20Wind%202%20mph%20at%20224.0º;%2019:34:00%20UTC
I have two WeatherBridge units from Ambient Weather both doing the same thing. I had to reset the one because of a setting change from "latest" to "USB stick first" to try and stop the constant 5 megabyte purge of data on boot and it still hasn't reset itself saying, but network activity slow from the unit out the wazoo! I am on a 50/20 connection FIOS/Business and tested the speed on the router and nothing is wrong there.

Sorry for the multiple posts, but I figured out how to do it. It is very messy because I can't add spaces and some characters properly, but on my primary weather station weather bridge I added to the Twitter-Upload (every hour):

Code: Select all

#weather,Temp:[th0temp-act=F.1:--]ºF;Dew:[th0dew-act=F.1:--]ºF;Pressure:[thb0press-act=inHg.2:--]in.Hg.;Wind:[wind0wind-act=mph.0:--]/mph@[wind0dir-act:--]º;http://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KPAPERKA4
Thanks,
Chris

I tried, but cannot reproduce the problem. "%20" is displayed correctly as a space with all browsers I used.

Code: Select all

#weather, Temp:[th0temp-act=F.1:--]ºF; Dew:[th0dew-act=F.1:--]ºF; Pressure:[thb0press-act=inHg.2:--]in.Hg.; Wind:[wind0wind-act=mph.0:--]/mph@[wind0dir-act:--]º;http://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KPAPERKA4
results to (including spaces):

Sorry to bump this thread but I'm having the same problem as czenzel was having with the spaces being replaced by %20.

I have tried everything I can think of including changing encoding settings in my text editor...everything:) The ONLY way I can get a string which displays spaces correctly is by copying one directly off this site lol.

So, I will paste my string here and copy it...see if it works.

Code: Select all

Temperature: [th0temp-act]°C, Humidity: [th0hum-act]%, Barometer: [thb0press-act]mb, Rain Today: [rain0total-sumday], Wind: [wind0avgwind-act=kmh]kph(avg) to [wind0dir-act]°

EDIT: Still no joy.....

To see the output of the above string see: https://twitter.com/opotikiweather

Your tweet is limited to confirmed followers. Therefore, I cannot look at the generated output.
Please try in a first step to avoid the special characters (° %) and make sure the string is no longer
than the magical 144 bytes.

Does this work?

Code: Select all

Temperature: [th0temp-act:--]C, Humidity: [th0hum-act.0:--], Barometer: [thb0press-act:--]mb, Rain Today: [rain0total-sumday.1:--]mm, Wind: [wind0avgwind-act=kmh.1:--]kph(avg) [wind0dir-act=endir:]
