How to get started?

Post by bobinmurphy »

I'm in the US and interested in getting a system up and running with my weather station. There are two US vendors listed that are said to offer a hub with hardware and a meteohub license, but both are now no longer offering these products. Looking at trying to roll my own and it seems the best low-cost approach would be to use a Raspberry PI, but the model B is out of production and only the B+ is being offered which isn't supported. So it appears that's it's damn near impossible to get a new station up and running, which begs the question - is Meteohub going to support newer hardware and/or do they have new US vendors lined up?

An alternative would be to have a license option that offers access to the source allowing one to build on other platforms, or having binaries available for running on standard systems like Linux and BSD.

Now a new image is available (Version 5.0), which according to meteohub also supports Model B+

yep. uploaded yesterday. Image should be fine for B and B+. Hadn't had a chance to test massively, so far.

Regarding US resellers, ambient has switched over to the Meteobridge completely as it is the much easier to use and less complex solution.
