Have been working through the capabilities of the MeteoBridge, so far so good unil the FTP config. Email test ok but FTP having some problems. Have no issues with FTP setup in WeatherLink but no matter what I have tried with MeteoBridge (and several different of my FTP sites) not having any success at this point uploading a test file via the Test button.
What am I missing?
FTP Setup / Test Issues

Re: FTP Setup / Test Issues
Probably the path to be used on the FTP account is not correct. #1 user error regarding FTP.
...and please attach some evidence, without any information (beside "it is not working") nobody
can really help you. Screendumps are welcome

Re: FTP Setup / Test Issues
Path and all was ok but have done something this morning and now have it uploading so all good. For what it is worth .....
My observations and with some hindsight up until this morning had only been trying to setup the generic FTP without any luck. Without changing the FTP Host, Port, User & password I tried a different router, same deal, then setup a FTP service via the path with the same FTP parameters and it all worked. Then tried a "Test Upload" and it also worked and was the first time I had seen System Message "FTP test upload successfuly done etc ...", or for that matter any feedback in the System message window at all, pass or fail as well as the green tick so all was good.
Also might mention all this was done via Internet login but should that make any difference? Pulled everything back locally and all still good.
Main thing I notice now is slightly changing the FTP generic detials to deliberately make it fail is the System Message lights up with an error and a Red X which in all past attempts was not active at all, no messages good or bad and no green tick or red cross either.

Re: FTP Setup / Test Issues
Maybe someone can help me. I also have a problem with FTP setup. Meteobridge won't send any test file to my website by FTP.
I know my settings are 100% good, but when I push the Test button it doesn't do anything.
Below you will find the FTP setting in the Meteobridge:

According to my internet provider it should be (I'm sorry it's Dutch):

This is also the FTP-setting in my meteobridge as you can see above.
For example below you will find the FTP-settings of Cumulus, which I used before Meteobridge:

Last example are the FTP-settings of Core FTP. That program I use for uploading files to my webspace at my internet provider.

As you can see, I have my FTP-settings in Meteobridge the same as all other programmes. What am I doing wrong?
Meteobridge: ASUS WL-330N3G
Router: TP-Link TL-WR1043ND
Uploading data to WOW Met.Office is doing well. Also Push services Twitter, HTTP Request and Email are doing well.
Many thanks for you help!

Re: FTP Setup / Test Issues
Have you tried "." as path?
Next update will have this automatically inserted, when no path given.

Re: FTP Setup / Test Issues
Unfortunately also a dot (.) didn't solve the problem.
I also tried FTP-settings of an other hostingprovider, but it didn't worked out.
There is still no test file uploaded to the root of my hosting providers.
Do you have an other idea?

Re: FTP Setup / Test Issues
if the cumulus folder is still there you should try to upload to that folder. If that succeeds we know were to look.Erjeetje wrote:Unfortunately also a dot (.) didn't solve the problem.

Re: FTP Setup / Test Issues
Hi Wim,
Thanks for your support.
I made an extra folder called "meteobridge". I also tried to upload the test file to that folder, but that didn't work either.
My Dutch reseller Weerhuisje.nl just had an idea. He told me to set up the right FTP settings and than set up a new FTP Event Definition without testing it. So after that I reloaded a test template made by myself. It looks like Meteobridge uses this template and is uploading it to the right file. I think it's working now, but there is a hick-up in the test-upload, because the test-upload is still not working.
This is my own test-file

I'm still wondering why the test upload isn't working.

Re: FTP Setup / Test Issues
Yes I had a similar problem initially and really not sure what I did that solved it. My Test Upload is ok now.
Have you setup an FTP Upload service and see if that works? I am thinking that after I did this the Test Upload then worked? I think?
All I have in Template URL: http://templates.meteobridge.com/simpledash.html
Path: ftp://user:password@ftp.weather.hostnam ... testx.html
user/password & hostname obviously will be specific to yourself
Now from memory once this run and worked then the Test Upload worked and has been ok ever since. Don't forget to Reload Template
