Since i have SSH access to my nslu2 with meteohub from outside i would like to use the nslu2 to wake other pc's on my home network.
I thought that i could just do an 'ipkg install wakelan' but it fails.
ipkg updates also fails.
I could however use the wget to link to download the file. But 'ipkg ...

Re:Install of Meteohub on an external HDD
The slug just sees the the usb pen as storage - so would your hd.
The only problem is that images is to small use your big hd. But I can't see any reason why you should'nt be able to resize the partitions on a hd to the sizes you want - It is "just" an application running on SlugOS/BE 4.8

Re:cron job to ftp some files
Any files you copy to the transfer directory will be uploaded by meteohub automatically.
That is what i do for my extra 1-wire sensors.
I simply point the output of my custom plot to /data/transfer and soon thereafter i can find the picture on http://majland.org/weather/1wire.png

Re:Custom crontab entries
Well 'crontab -e' does work but i'm not sure whether meteohub will overwrite it again

Custom crontab entries
It seems that any changes in the webinterface is causes /var/cron/tabs/root.new to be written and then /var/cron/tabs/root
Is it possible to add my own entries ?

NSLU2 & WH1080 near Viborg Denmark
I've not had meteohub running for a few weeks so it is about time to introduce it here :-)
The only difficult thing was getting the wind sensor to the top of my mast :-)
Picture on this page http://majland.org/blog/?p=136 (in danish)

Re:AC Power fail : NSLU2 does not restart itself
Yes - when applying power to the slug trough one of its USB ports it boots imideately - and hence also after an power failure.
That why i posted it here :-)
I actually used the slugs psu to power the 2.5" external hd and the slug that way round
Discalimer - this was tested with a slug several ...

Re:AC Power fail : NSLU2 does not restart itself
The slug does not run on ac but on a 5V DC.
From linksys it is delivered with a PSU that delivers the 5V DC.
What i did was to use a hd case with its own power supply and that powered the slug trough its usb port (I.e i did not connect the linksys psu at all)

Re:AC Power fail : NSLU2 does not restart itself
An alternative approach is to power the slug trough the usb port. If you use a powered hub on your weatherstation port that can power the slug as well.
I've been running with that setup for a few years with a powered hd case when my slug was running as webserver.
It is not recommended to use a hub ...

Metetohub can replace the text in a template with the weather values.
It uses a template in i.e /public/graphs/test-template.html

Choosing Colors when defining graphs
It might be obvious, but not to me ...
When i get the cromatic selection palette i can ofcourse just choose a color - but it does also allow me to edit the color value directly in hex in the upper left corner.
But i can't figure out how to get it to accept my new values.
Is there an easy way ?
